HELENA, Mont. (AP) — The University of Idaho is returning to the Big Sky Conference for all sports but football starting with the 2014-15 school year.

League Commissioner Doug Fullerton and Idaho President Duane Nellis made the announcement Friday. Nellis signed an agreement with the league at its Oct. 16 meeting in Park City, Utah.

Good to be back in the SB. We will do our Indy this year (watch how the SB 2013 goes with its exciting football) and be in 2014 with what we think will be a improving football program under the guidance of Paul Petrino. Check out our history --- a good browse to get to know Vandal past and present: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idaho_Vandals_football

The Big Sky conference for Olympic sports is perfect helping reduce travel cost and playing some old rivals.

the MWC would be a better fit for Idaho but the SBC may work out better short term.
Idaho's new coach has SEC ties and should know a lot of high school coaches in the Southeast so it could help recruiting.
Idaho being the top academic school in the conference could be a recruiting tool .
The play-off disbursement gives Idaho a chance to play a more workable schedule.

The one thing that has to get done is Dome expansion which seems inevitable .
The Dome gets expanded then it has the potential to be a recruiting tool who else has a mid sized dome.
