Supreme Court rules in favor of Democrats
Early voting is on in Ohio and across the country. Consider this, the gov't in Ohio was asking the supreme court of the united states, using taxpayer money, to limit the voting times of it's citizens thinking this was a viable option. Ohio election officials indicated that this early voting will cause tremendous strain on the election system. Funny, the early voting has been used in each of the last two presidential elections in 2004 and 2008. Wasn't a problem then, why is it now???

It was a "viable option" for hundreds of years. As you indicate below.

It was a problem then.

How do you survive being so remarkably stupid? Oh, you have the gov't take care of you.

Again Dr.Torch, I have to say it over and over. Your remarks, comments and suggestions as vial as they are, simply suggest your lack of intelligence. Your losing your temper sir to a funny message board, an opinion that someone has posted that makes you lose control. Sir, that is the reason I post such messages. To bring out the vial remarks that live within you. The factors, facts and documents of early voting sir are obvious to everyone except a few, a group that you happen to be part of. My only problem is my blockhead secretary of state used taxpayer money for his appeals.

It's always a source of mirth to me when someone mangles the English language while calling out someone else's intelligence.

RE: Supreme Court rules in favor of Democrats
Its time these games end once and for all.

Access to Vote Act.

1) All Americans will be given, free of charge, a citizenship photo ID. This ID will automatically register one to vote and the magnetic strip will be used for holding information related to all federally funded programs such as Medicare, Social Security, VA Benefits, and Food Stamps. This card will NOT be used as a drivers license.
2) All Americans can update their voter information online when they move. Every state must be able to accept changes to online updating of information changed one month prior to the beginning of early voting.
3) Early voting shall be offered in every county in the nation for Federal Elections for at least one week prior to the elections. Voting locations shall be located and staffed in proportion to voting numbers. States may choose to hold more early election options at their discretion.

Problem solved! No more fighting over voter supression. And everyone gets to vote.

Looks dangerously close to a federal ID, and could be interpreted to include RFID technology.

And with all the allowances made by employers concerning election day, I don't understand mandatory early voting. If a state feels they can accurately, and effectively handle it then they can choose to have early voting. If a state feels that they can't, then they shouldn't. One day to vote, announced WELL ahead of time, can't be targeted as suppressing votes.

It WOULD be a Federal ID. That's the friggin' point. No more fighting over driver licences for undocumented aliens (so illegals can have car insurance). No more fighting over bogus voter registrars because everyone would be registered. No more games. Everyone who is a citizen has a photo ID to vote with.

Early voting makes sense to ensure that everyone can vote. And the Right wingers get their photo ID requirement satisfied.

Half-good/half bad-idea... ID is okay for voting/residency purposes (and I'm in favor of states having to supply these for free _TO CITIZENS ONLY_ - again, I'm opposed to anything that even resembles a poll tax.), but holding personal information? Un-uh.. no thank you. Talk about walking into a hornet's nest.

Not a chance... one good cyberhack, and BOOM.. your system is hosed!

I'm opposed to early voting for anyone who's not serving out-of-state (and this can include national guard or rescue workers working out of state for national disasters.). The election day is DEFINED in our constitution. That's the day of voting, and the only exception is for people serving... (again, both foreign and domestic {providing they're out of their state/polling place location)

Federal ID? No thanks. Especially one tied to voting.

And everyone can vote already. No NEED for early voting. If you can't get there on the day where all concessions are made to allow you to get there, then you can't get there. It is a luxury, and if a state (since, you know states handle voting, not the feds) isn't comfortable with early voting, then it shouldn't do it.
