RE: Hey Bobcat Fans...
The difference in money is neglible and isn't enough to change the competitiveness of the product on the field. That is clear given how much better the Sun Belt is than CUSA and the WAC this year.

I would like to have another Arkansas team in the conference but I don't want to join the Southland or SWAC to get that. I am not going to travel to more than a game or two a year and a bowl game. We have games against ULM, MTSU, UNT, WKU and now USA that are all within driving distance for ASU fans. I can always find a game to travel to if I want to go.

Texas St. can work out some non-conference games with regional teams to fill that void and they ended up in the better conference. I don't see any reason to complain. I guess there would be some easier wins in CUSA but that is about it.

I think that the nay-sayers are primarily those who are casual fans and don't really follow the development of the league structure within FBS. Wow!!! FBS!!!! We're gonna play Texas, A&M, TCU every year!!! After opening with Tech, it's now we're playing who? All the news about the collapse of the WAC hasn't helped generate interest either. I strongly feel that once we get what I consider our transitional year over and get into the Sun Belt, and start playing the same teams every year, interest and attendance will pick back up. I know I'm looking forward to being able to attend some away games, meet y'all here on the board, and create new rivalries through frequent play in all sports. I already see softball with Louisiana getting to be a good one.

The SBC is a good solid conference for Texas State. We have a lot of growing pains and beatdowns coming but feel the SBC fits best for Texas State.

We had some negative thoughts about the SBC primarily due to UNT lobbying others to keep us out prior to accepting the WAC invite. There is a little bad blood from this.

RE: Hey Bobcat Fans...
When we first got picked up by the WAC, I wasn't too crazy bout it . . .all that travel seemed like a budget buster, plus (aside from utsa), no nearby rival(s). But hey, Any "BIG BOY" conference was better than "NO BIG BOY" conference and remaining in the Southland. AND then the WAC imploded . . . schools bolted from that conf. sooooo fast, you'd of thought they were running out of a burning building . . ... (puts on Bobcat colored glasses) . . . Now, I lovvvvvvve my Bobcats, and I lovvvve my school, but I gotta say that by and large, as a fan base goes, . . we are without a doubt fair weather. When we WIN, we pack our stadium .. . and when we don't . . . our "supporters" can be hard to find . . . here's where the perception that we weren't crazy bout landing in the Sun Belt comes in . . . . . a lot of Bobcats (based on what, I don't know) just figured that we were all set to be picked up by any number of "preceived" larger/better conferences than the Belt . . . when that didn't happen, you got that . . "Well, TX ST don't seem to be happy to be here" tude. Part of this can also be attributed to utsa, in only its 2nd year of FB, being picked up by cusa, a preceived better conf. than the Belt . .We all know that NutsaCK was picked up because of its "market" . . still it pissed off a lot of the Bobcat faithful . .We have History, Facilities, Size, National Titles . .Hell, We've got Strutters! ... utsa had a market and a rental facility, ... They practice at a local san antonio high school and we're PASSED UP by that??? WTF?? .. ergo, This was nothing short of a SLAP in the FACE to TX ST. Understand, that's NOT a knock on the Sun Belt. (puts on Sun Belt colored glasses). I'm damn happy to be a part of the "Up and Coming" Conference known as The Sun Belt! I believe we're joining at a very opportune time, and that my TX ST BOBCATS will have a hand in changing the Nation's perception of the Sun Belt Conference. 04-rock The conference footprint is better than the WAC's. We'll have an opportunity to grow both our program and our fan base . . AND we'll do it as the Prestige of the Conference Grows. That's a WIN/WIN. PROUD TO BE A PART OF BOBCAT NATION! PROUD TO BE A SUN BELT NATIONALIST!

Heck, we don't like UNT either. So, don't sweat it.

And we're proud to count you among the Nationalist Movement. Have you considered trying to take the Movement to your home boards? Nationalism is sweeping the SBC fanbases.

RE: Hey Bobcat Fans...
Well I have been pleased with the percentage of Bobcat fans who joined the Nationalist movement this go around. Shows that atleast our local Cats are ready for some Sun Belt football! 04-cheers

Now yall just need to recruit more from the TxSt fanbase to come over and join the fun.

There are still a few that don't get it, but most are glad to be in the SBC and have your support. On the field, IMHO, the belt is the Non-AQ conference that has momentum in the right direction, and I'm glad TxSt will be a part of it. All we need is a better TV contract and more bowl tie-ins. It will happen.
