1) There were ULM fans saying 21k was "disappointing". This is the first I've heard anyone dispute the number.

2) What makes you the authority to say your number was no doubt correct and ours wasn't? Especially when you're going off of television. I was at the game in Murfreesboro and there is no doubt that we had 21k.

And what about the tarps at the ULM game vs. Baylor. They were not removed. Great crowd, but hard to believe a "sell-out".

The tarps are staying because the local fire marshall requires it. We're currently stuck with them. No, I don't know why. If we had over 31,000 people at a 30,000 seat stadium (if the tarps weren't there) then it was definitely a sellout. SRO was the order of the night.

Yes, we were disappointed that MT admitted to having 21,000 people there. Should have been more, don't ya think? Especially a week after beating GT?

You guys were the ones running your mouths about our attendance. We certainly did have 21k, counting season ticket sales. How many times have you been to Murfreesboro for reference ?

I rarely see any ULM fans there at the games.

I've been to probably 30 ULM games at Malone.

I've already said it was a great crowd in Monroe, but if you have to tarp to get your "sellout" is it really a sellout ?

When you guys average in the neighborhood of 20k year in and year out, without the benefit of "home games" in Little Rock, I'll listen to your criticism.

It was. We sold more tickets for FAU than we sold for McNeese, which certainly was 16k.

The student turnout for FAU was not good (the side you saw from the pressbox cameras).

Was told by close associates that are high up at MT, that as recently as two years ago, MT led the Sun Belt in Total Ticket Sales over all sports.

Was told several SBC teams offer quite a few freebies and $1 ticket sales to corporations. Did not say which programs. I know it was not WKU, of course.

However, I think our number this week wasn't nearly as disappointing as MTSU's last week..... just my opinion

1) MTSU's game was Homecoming
2) They were coming off one of the biggest wins in school history
3) Population: Murfreesboro - 111k Monroe - 49k
4) Students: MT-24k ULM - 9k

Poor attendance sucks, but I'll take a win over attendance any day of the week.

I guess you make a good point. Crowds around 21,000 are nothing special in Murfreesboro. Crowds over 15k in Monroe are still a relatively new thing.

I could not care one bit less what goes on in Statesboro. Georgia Southern is a total non-factor in my mind and that will remain the case until something concrete happens regarding conference realignment. Same can be said for App State and every other FCS program out there. I don't care if you won or lost, I don't care what your attendance was, I don't care where any ranking system has you ranked. Really. You guys need to take a hint.

normally not but 1$ tickets were part of what did ken mcdummy in. the game before they fired him they had 1$ tix at all the convenience stores. only sold a little over 150. then only had about 2k show up for that game....much less than season tix sold.

in contrast there were probably over 3k at hilltopper hysteria friday night.

everyone brags what their spring game brings in attendance-wise. i wonder what other sunbelt schools had at their version of hysteria friday night.

WKU was second in total revenue for ticket sales. Now, last year, the Cajuns were probably number one due to their huge football numbers, plus their always strong baseball and softball.

Hell, I think we let softball fans in for free.

That said, ULM is making big strides in their football attendance. Happy for them, and we'll be seeing Browning play on Sundays if he stays healthy.

So the Fire Marshall is making you keep the tarps, thereby reducing actual seating capacity but the let you cram in more people into that reduced seating than could sit in the seating capacity sans tarps? That is either the lamest bull**** story or the most ****** up Fire Marshall since Fire Marshall Bill. "Let me show ya something!"
