The arrogant sportstalk guy in Tampa is always saying that the Vegas sharks won't bet on MAC games. Don't know if it's the poor execution or someting more sinister.

That's been floating around since the right before the point shaving thing broke. Might of been a real thing then and just persists for a radio honk to troll listeners .

That's almost exactly 3.6 inches per attendee.

RE: EMU game thread
The thing I notice the most about the poor tackling is that we continue to hit the runners high - up around the pads. Don't ever remember being taught to hit runners high.

Is it possible that Bush is being redshirted? If he did not get into this game on the defense, then it has to be that they are trying to get him to quit or he is being redshirted. A guy doesn't get that much playing time as a freshman - then not play at all the following year. I don't even know if he has previously redshirted or if he was academically ineligible for a season. Probably the right move to redshirt him with Molls and Bell as 2 senior linebackers.

While this is a horrible attendance #, it was raining for a few hours before the game, down pouring actually, stopped right before the game started, and in the middle of the 1st half it started to down pour again where many left the stadium, the home side was about half full at the start of the game however the student section #'s are a joke, local high schools have bigger student sections.

my guess is the home side had at the most 15% capacity at the start of the game, not 50%.
It really reflected poorly on EMU . But at now 0-6 there fan base must be gutted from so many poor seasons in a row.

That's what I was thinking, too.

I think it's sad that they don't get better support. I'm not going to say that they don't deserve to be D1A, but I wonder whether they might actually draw better if they were in a lower level conference. They keep trying and trying to do things to get back into contention, but it just isn't happening. But, thinking back, there was 2006....

If I recall correctly, don't the emus have a nice basketball facility? Like Rynearson, which is a nice stadium, too bad it goes to waste...

A beautiful hoops facility and usually a competitive team. When Jop was coach my daughter walked down three rows from our seats to pick up an Emu shirt their cheerleaders threw. No Emu fans within fifty seats of us- " DAD! its FREE." About two hundred home fans on the other side and several dozen scattered about. She still has the shirt.
