And exactly why is that. Football sucks. FCS teams, not even good ones are beating your ass. No one is showing up for the games. Don't exactly have a stellar program in any sport.
What exactly makes you a better "fit" than us or App? Oh, let me guess. The ATL DMA. Please.....

Here's my view.
Pros of adding Appy and Ga Southern
1) Additional championship game will help revenue and competition
2) Blocks CUSA from Georgia.
3) Provides an instant rival for Georgia State. That rivalry would be nasty. I see 40k plus in the Dome for a Ga Southern/Ga State FBS tilt (Mostly Ga Southern fans)
4) Gives the SBC the ability to add Appy
Cons
1) Texas State, USA, and Georgia State aren't up to speed yet. Going from 3 to FIVE moveups might be a bit rough
2) Probably dilutes the product at a time when the SBC is finally making a few waves
3) Forces divisional splits in the conference, with a likely much weaker Eastern Division.
4) Neither Georgia Southern nor Appy are particularly close to any SBC team.
GSU and App State are light years ahead of USA and GaState when in comes to football. Both would be at the top in attendance, and in the standings. Would give more strength to SunBelt both in actual, and in perception.
Between them, you have 9 FCS National Championship, plus big name recognition.
FCS success does not equal an easy transition to FBS.
That point should be stickied. Move up equals restart.
I always love going back and reading these old threads. This was a good one.

Not really no, I was bored and was looking back at some of the old threads here and found this one where it says we would be like a start up team again. I think we did a little better than that, as I thought we would from the start.

I'm thinking in 2017 we compete for the national title since 2014 was a "restart" year.

Didn't WKU have like 3 straight winless season when they moved up. Appy state and GA Southern will struggle win they move.
Ahhhhh, the old WKU analogy. I remember that one.
