Former FAU Associate AD is next AD at Arkansas St

According to ArkansasSports360 Terry Mohajir will be named the new athletics director at Arkansas State at a news conference today.

We told you last week that Mohajir and former FAU AD Craig Angelos had both applied for the job.

After leaving FAU in 2011, Mohajir has been KU's Associate AD - External Relations at Kansas for a little more than a year before accepting the job at Arkansas State, where he was a defensive back in the early 1990s.

Mohajir did a fine job while at FAU trying to raise money in a tough economy and I'm confident he will do well at Arkansas State.

Mohajir played football at ASU in the early 90's when we first moved up to D1.

He is perhaps the first AD I have ever heard break down in tears in the middle of an introductory press conference...but he has a lot of fire and energy.

I actually think Mohajir will be ok. He had some great ideas for FAU's Stadium.

Also as an Alum of stAte I think he will be even more motivated to help it succeed.

You guys avoided a landmine in Angelos. Even though he had Head AD experience he is not all that good at it.

Our last AD was never known for being accomodating to coaches, and often made ridiculous requests of them. All we need is someone who knows how to raise money, and will listen to our coaches (Because we have a strong group) and help them improve their own sports in any way he can...
