"Social Roadrunners" for you social media enthusiasts
I just saw this on goutsa.com and I thought I'd share this with you. This is a relatively new concepts, but I'll let the article explain what "Social Roadrunners" is all about:

"UTSA Athletics announces launch of new social media fan-engagement program on Tuesday"

"SAN ANTONIO — UTSA Athletics announced the launch of a new social media fan-engagement program on Tuesday. "Social Roadrunners" will enable fans to show their support and connect with UTSA while earning rewards.

Developed in partnership with Lodestone Sports, fans will receive points by participating in social media activities such as ‘liking’ Facebook posts, commenting, sharing, tweeting hashtags, re-tweeting, watching YouTube videos, checking into UTSA events on Foursquare or Facebook or scanning student ID cards at Roadrunners events.

The program will track overall point leaders, athletics leaders and individual team leaders in each UTSA sport. The points earned will be redeemable for prizes and special fan experiences throughout the academic year."

In addition, "super" fans will be able to receive special promotions and coupons or become the "Fan of the Week" on team Facebook pages.

“Social Roadrunners is going to give our fans the opportunity to connect, participate, earn points and win some cool stuff," Associate AD for Marketing Jim Goodman said. "We encourage all our fans to sign up today at socialroadrunners.com.“

“The shift in consumer attention to social media and the second-screen experience will allow UTSA to develop great new in-game social media promotions, extend traditional marketing programs into social networks like Facebook and reward fans for their social media support of UTSA teams,” Lodestone President Mark Drosos said.
