Go to their websites and you will see them use their official names of University of Texas at Austin and Louisiana State University Agricultural and Mechanical College. However for sports usage and everyday common references they use Texas and LSU respectively. There are many other similar examples across the US. UNLV and Nevada went through this same kind of bullshiite for years until the clowns at UNLV realized how stupid they were for trying to dictate how Nevada (officially Nevada- Reno) should be referenced. One day the folks at ulm may wise up, stop whining about UL and start worrying about their own program. But I'm not too optimistic about that.

It is different, the schools you mentioned won their battles, and won them a long time ago. Is it fair? No, but that's just the way it is.

But it really doesn't matter anymore as far as you are concerned, right? However, if you want to get nit picky with me, according to another Cajun poster, your jerseys that say "UL" on them, also have "Lafayette" stitched in, just in the same color as the dominant uniform color. A clever move by your athletic department, but that would mean that the jerseys still say "UL Lafayette" now wouldn't it?

Once you guys have the legal rights to use "UL" and "University of Louisiana" in formal language and on jerseys without the same color Lafayette hidden on the jerseys, then you guys will be "UL" or "The University of Louisiana". In the meantime, I will continue to refer to the athletic program and teams of the University of Louisiana Lafayette as Louisiana or Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns, which is all you should care about.

no, that is a tactic that is used on some fan gear (polo shirts, hats, etc.) we also have gear that has UL orLouisiana only with no city tag to be found. that is the case with the ini form examples shown to you.

Why not just admit that it chaps your ass to call us UL and you refuse to do it. You tried several times to throw out excuses disguised as some logical criteria and we met those standards. Your continued crawfishing shows your true nature. Your word is worthless. You've been exposed.

For the umpteenth time, I've always refused to call you UL for the same reason I refuse to call my school UMT. This really isn't that difficult, and no "telling the truth" doesn't get you banned. While the school in Baton Rouge may have a different official name, they have the legal right to the use of "LSU" and the same goes for every other example you've given. You do not have legal rights to "UL" or "University of Louisiana" just as we do not have legal rights to " UMT" or "University of Middle Tennessee". I am being logical, I am being consistent. Regardless of if you agree, I'm also being quite clear on the subject and again, I am referring to you as one of your many preferred names over "ULL" or "UL Lafayette" so as long as I am referring to you as "Louisiana" I'm really not sure as to why your panties are in such a twist of epic proportions.

I'm not worried about being arrested, I'm just not interested in using names that schools have no legal right to use themselves.
