Great minds think alike. You know when people say, "the game was much closer than the score indicated?" I think it will NOT be as close as the score indicates. Eastern will seem to have the game in hand, but Illinois State will find a way to hang around, kind of like Alabama State last season. Just a feeling.

I think EMU's offense will be in high gear again. What will be interesting to see whether our defensive line gets mauled by a very large Illinois State offensive line where most of the starters are in excess of 300 pounds. If I'm Illinois State my gameplan is textbook EMU- run and pound the ball and keep EMU's offense off the field.

I hope thats the case, I see more of an AL St affair myself. When there watching its physical domination 350 yds rushing 9 sacks(remember it) but at the end of the game they stuck around and had an opportunity to tie it.

In having witnessed EMU lose to D1AA teams in the past I have this fear that EMU will lose again. The struggles versus a weaker Alabama State team last year make me wonder if this isn’t the year EMU gets tripped up.

Keeping my fingers crossed, I am going to go with EMU 23, Illinois State 16.
