To think that they would be influenced by a couple of anonymous people on a message board seems to be insulting to their work ethic.

I would hope they choose schools on different matters than who has the most well behaved fans in a chat room.

MAC teams have already been in the top 25...and as of this year and last year the SBC has had winning records against the MAC and is ranked higher.

For you to say its doubtful is being uneducated about SBC football and how this league has come along.

The MAC overall has better schools and athletes. Come back and talk when you start playing and taking down Ohio, Toledo and NIU, and not Kent, Akron and EMU. Same with CUSA when the Slum Belt starts taking down ECU, USM and those at the top instead of Memphis and UAB.

Will the Slum Belt ever have a ranked team, it's possible. But it won't be this year or most likely not in the next 5 years. For someone in the conference to ever break the top 25 you will most likely have to go 3-1 or 4-0 with a win over a power conference school. You would then have to win 7 or 8 conferece games. Then you might break in the top 25 at 23-25.

You are an idiot. We beat USM last time we played them and I know UL beat Houston a few years ago when they won CUSA. Also, FIU beat UCF last season. We have defeated plenty of CUSA teams including the many many garbage teams you have in that conference such as Memphis, UAB, Marshall, and Tulane. ECU rarely plays anyone from the Sun Belt so thats a moot point.

Tennessee fans were thanking their lucky stars that MT's offense last year was a dumpster fire or the Blue Raiders finish 3-9, which probably would've led to a coaching change in Knoxville last season.
The SoCon meme is fabulous, I can't wait to see the Jawja Suthanas when the Kennesaw State promise Danny Morrison and that boob Iammirino made to them gets filled. Oh the excitement, Kennesaw vs. Ga. Southern.
Seriously though, good for them to be ranked 3rd in the FCS poll, for that division of football it should be a pretty competitive season.

And how do you know this guy is even a Ga Southern fan? Could be a fan of another school using this as a cover. There is nobody with his screen name on the Ga Southern board.

Don't always believe what you see on the surface.

I can't wait to see ETSU dig their way out of bankruptcy to re-start their football team that went under.

Maybe they should call Obama for a bailout. LOL

We did. It build a ton of stuff around campus. Shocking ETSU would spend money on things outside of athletics. Seriously though, if you knew half of what you think you know about how the business of intercollegiate athletics works, you'd know that what Ga. Southern is doing won't sustain longterm success in FBS. It's not meant to be smack, or an insult or anything else but a simple, factual statement.
Like I said, the number three ranking in the inferior division is good, the top 5-10 schools in FCS in one off games against MAC teams and bottom feeders in FBS are typically competitive.
Good luck with your season Eagle fans, not really sure what it has to do with the Sun Belt, but it'll be fun to see how it plays out for you. Honest opinion, North Dakota St, Sam Houston St and App I believe are better teams, but anything can happen in the playoffs.

You see Z, When your program has the greatest dynasty out of 250 division I football programs, there is a certain level of expectations that only Alabama can understand. 6 national championships, 8 title game appearances in 14 years in a playoff format. Ga Southern = Championships. It is bred in our blood. We are loaded again and looking to kick some a**.

FBS will soon find out.

Its really cute that you try to combine FCS and FBS when discussing your "dynasty". You had an impressive run in FCS over a fourteen year period in that time you went 0-11 against FBS teams and really only a couple of those games were close. This little statement, your signature, comparing yourself to Alabama(03-lmfao)...it all screams small time. Know your place, a top notch FCS program with a great run that has zero to do with FBS and that no one outside of Statesboro cares about.

Marshall was in the SoCon 4 years with GA Southern and really had no touble with your Triple Opition.

1993 Marshall 13 GA Southern 3
1994 Marshall 34 GA Southern 10
1995 Marshall 37 GA Southern 7
1996 Marshall 29 GA Southern 13

The triple opition isn't that hard to defend if you have just a half way decent defence. You roll with the QB on which ever side the QB goes to, bring a LB up to cover the RB lane and drop your safties and other LB no more than 15 yards. Most triple opition programs won't throw no more than 10 times a game and no more than 10-15 yards as most triple opition QBs aren't that acuate past that.

We may have to send you to Norfolk to explain this to our defense. Hopefully we've made some adjustments in our D for this year but last year our motto was "the best defense is a good offense" whuch served us well right up to the playoff game against Ga So.

What happened in the 1989 game when we hung 63 on Marshall? I will say 1993-1996 was a bad period for our program while Marshall was at their peak.

But yet Marshall was:

5 Wins and 14 Losses to Appalachian State
while both were in the Southern Conference in regular season games!

Marshall was 6-5 in 1989. I did say if you had a decent defense.

We are just going to have to agree to disagree on this one. I think there are some solid FCS teams out there that can hold their own against FBS teams.

Agree to disagree about what? I never said no FCS teams could hang with FBS teams, I said your full of crap about your "dynasty". You have the greatest dynasty in FCS history. You do not play in FBS. The fact that they both fall under the umbrella of Div 1, does not make your dynasty the greatest dynasty in FBS history. In that run, I'm sure there were a good number of FBS teams you could have beaten, but it's irrelevant, no one gives a damn about your FCS dynasty.
