Itd be more fitting if South Alabama was nicknamed the Hurricanes

Good news is that UTSA probably hasnt played many games in the rain before.

Lil worried this thing will turn and come up Florida.

Not worried so much about the storm as it looks like it will be a Cat 1, which is bad but not the end of the world, but how it will affect the field for the FAU game against Wagner.

Still way too early to tell. The storm is 5 days away and the models have been shifting east over the past few days.

Looks like it could be a classic North Equatorial/Gulf Stream pattern shaping up. Let's hope the Gulf Stream grabs it and takes it away.

I was looking at the models this morning and all the ones I saw said landfall will be near Jacksonville, FL.

Models brought to us by the same genius meteorologists that predict ever year will be the WORST HURRICANE SEASON EVAR!

I ain't getting scared until they say "This one will be pretty mild...."

The weather changes all the time. Any prediction or forecast is based upon a snapshot in time. Based upon our snapshot at 9:12 a.m. on Wed morning such and such is most likely. Now when you take a snapshot 6 hours later and some variable has changed...

I am a meteorology major at FIU, and everyone in Florida should be keeping a close eye on this system. The system is still about five to six days out, so we have plenty of time to watch it and things can change from now and then. A lot depends on how much land it moves over in Haiti and Cuba, because these are very mountainous regions that can easily weaken the storm. Nonetheless, Florida could be dealing with a hurricane in five days.

Also, if you live anywhere from the Eastern Gulf Coast to over and up the east coast I would also closely monitor this storm.

Keep in mind if you are looking at the computer models that they change virtually every time they are run. Put much more weight on the National Hurricane Center's forecast CONE, not the line.

Love those mountains in Cuba. Its like Florida's shield to knock down the intensity of storms.

RE: Isaac head to the AL/FL coast?
Any prediction of how bad/good a hurricane season will be is garbage. The media, and all of these organizations do it just for attention. The only thing that can help predict the amount of storms so early into Summer is whether or not the Pacific Ocean is in El Nino or La Nina, which controls the temperature of the water in the Atlantic.

Now that's the best defensive line right there!

RE: Isaac head to the AL/FL coast?
Actually it's looking more likely that it'll hit the east coast of Florida rather than the Gulf Coast. (Great for me...) There's lots of meteorological reasons behind it, but it would be surprising to see it go against the models and into the gulf rather than hitting Miami/S Fla or going up the coast.

I will keep up to date here if it does head towards Miami.

Let me tell you about some bad luck:

I've got a condo booked from Sept 1-5 in Ft. Walton Beach.

I got such a good deal on the condo because I pre-paid in full, no refunds. I grew up on the gulf coast, so I knew very well from experience that there was a chance that a storm could hit, but figured I'd roll the dice.

I am definitely monitoring. Due to fly out Saturday morning for Domican Republic. I am hoping that any major tropical storm event hits Punta Cana on Friday and not Saturday

Unless your driving on the beach itself, I'm not worried.
