There's actually more to it than that, and the preseason forecasts have proven to have more skill than climatology. Also El Nino/La Nina affect waters temperatures in the Pacific, which affects levels of wind shear in the Atlantic. But what else can I expect from a FAU fan

Unless your driving on the beach itself, I'm not worried.
lol. well since ft. walton ain't daytona/new smyrna i won't be driving on the beach.....that's why i warned you to watch yourself crossing santa rosa blvd and didn't warn you to watch yourself walking on the beach!!!
the weather should be cleared up by then so i'm not worried about it. if it happens it happens. 6 days in flarda are still better than 6 days at work.

Yep, this time of year one of the major factors in determining hurricane and tropical cyclonic development is wind shear, which is affected through the cycle of El Nino / La Nina. This year's El Nino, which will likely begin in September, may calm the ocean some but storms that do fire up could always break the mold and become very strong... or they could simply fizzle out quickly. That doesn't really help matters now, with Isaac and TD10 currently spinning on the open ocean.

Duly noted. Either way, feel free to run down anyone you want, I won't be crossing any streets. I don't even see myself leaving my beach chair.
