JONESBORO (8/3/12) – Arkansas State Head Football Coach Gus Malzahn announced Friday that offensive lineman Will Latu, the No. 1 ranked junior college offensive tackle prospect in the nation by Scout.com, has signed with the Red Wolves after spending the last two seasons at College of the Canyons (Calif.).

The 6-5, 315 pound Latu (pronounced Luh-too) will have two years of eligibility remaining at A-State. He played offensive tackle for the Cougars, earning national recognition by several recruiting services as a top-tier player in the junior college ranks. He was listed as a four-star recruit by both Rivals.com and 247Sports.com . .

I think it belongs on the main board. It's big news. If it were in the recruiting thread I'd never have seen it. Things like signing the No. 1 JUCO OL in the country or the No. 2 CB (Troy) belong here, not who is WKU's 14th commitmment, which likely no one other than WKU fans will care about. There is no need for a hard and fast rule IMO.

Congratulations Arkansas State. I saw when he didn't get in at OU, and really wanted him at UNT.

jack doyle was preseason all conference. heir apparent to laderius green. he was not worthy of this board and banished to the insiders thread.. but a JUCO that one of his own fans says probably won't be eligible is more worthy.

it's nice when you get to 'pick and choose' what's relevant. no hard fast rules to abide by.

we've had troy's sub 4.3 running recruits rammed down our necks for years amigo. your frame of reference is too short. i'm going off of history. i've been a member since january of '05 and have put up with troy's 'we invented football' arrogance since then.

last year brought a much needed dose of humility to the gumps. so don't act like this board wasn't dominated by the forests and bubbas for years. it was.

and don't think for a minute that i was the only one that enjoyed the troy crash and burn last year.

in fact i'm praying to jobu for a repeat. i have all kind of stickpins rammed through a larry blakely voodoo doll.

p.s. i also realize our hoops crash and burn under mcdummy was relished by many. and i don't blame anybody that loved it. i get it.

If you need some juco help, it doesn't hurt to get the better players. Good job by the stAte staff. I believe it is a good pick up. I'm glad that beed liked last season's crash and burn...he'll be back to himself after this season's over

I'm not concerned with the past, I'm concerned with what's happening right now. It's all that matters. I'm always amazed at how unrelated threads turn into 'I hate Troy' frustration threads. Who do you think were the most arrogant fans on the board when UL went 6-1 to start the season? It comes with winning. And when Troy won five straight titles, three in a row where the overall margin of victory was +19 and the overall second place team was a megar +4, its safe to say for those years troy owned the belt. You didn't like us talking about it, so you cried about it because you'd rather it have been you. UL has some pretty arrogant fans, but I don't want their program to crash and burn. That's bush-league, beed. I like what they are doing, and trust me if WKU ran the belt this year we'd never hear the end of it.

You're seing that situation with colored glasses. What the Troy and ASU fans did is different. People aren't really concerned with 14 mostly 2 star recruits. People DO care about TOP recruits that warrant a main page posting. And again, Troy fans aren't doing what he was doing now. And honestly, I wasn't making that big a deal out if it. Let him post, I'll just skip over it. You made a big stink about how the No1 JUCO belonged in a recruiting thread because people didn't like your guy posting 14 threads about run of the mill athletes.

Troys past success belongs in the past. We have a lot to prove. Like I said, I'm not concerned with the past.

I agree to an extent. But every major board in the country has separate forums for off topics, recruiting, inside info, general discussion/politics, etc. I think being organized is a good thing. If we consolidated every forum to the main page It'd be really hard to find information that peaks your interest. That would drive people in my opinion.
