POLL: Would you rather... (read first comment before voting)
Marc Daniels made a good point on his radio show yesterday, and I'm going to ask it here.
On the one hand, it sends a message. Going into a new conference as the last champion of our previous conference... as the only team to get four east division titles and three championship titles in C-USA
On the other, we can roll the dice and hope we do well in the Big East (after losing 21 seniors, potentially) against better quality.
Todd Stansbury implied this question... Do we make this about being the best school possible, or do we focus on the financial ramifications? Do we take our best chance doing what is right for the student athletes, or do we make this about financial opportunity? If we believe that we are wronged in the postseason ban, shouldn't that be the #1 reason we are appealing and not whether or not we can take advantage of the system?
I am officially for the appeal. Bring on the NCAA Appeals Committee.

I think you have to make some noise when you can make some noise. O'Leary asking a favor of Hitt to appeal the bowl ban means one of two things: (1) he plans on leaving soon and wants to go out with a bang before the restrictions, loss of seniors, and tougher competition of the BE hit or (2) he likes how the team looks as much as Phil Steele does and thinks the price tag of the restrictions will be worth how far the team will go this year.
On the surface, I think the smart way to go is to take the hit and not let it drag on and affect recruiting. But GOL is seeing stuff that we don't and either he won't be paying the price or the price is worth the shot at something special this year. Either scenario sounds great to me. You know, unless he's just an idiot and the team sucks this year.

I think we appeal. We should appeal because none of those players made it to the field, there was no competitive advantage gained. The self imposed restrictions plus the bball ban should suffice. The football post season ban was too harsh.

Just looking at our depth chart - UCF has 20 seniors this season and only 11 for 2013. UCF has 2 SR RB's and one more RB (Storm Johnson) who is NFL-draft eligible and could leave if he has a breakout season for 2012, whereas the depth chart in 2013 is awfully slim without Johnson. The chance of a special season is MUCH greater this year than next.
That said, if UCF is ineligible for 2013's postseason, that could very well mean the Big East could withhold BCS and bowl revenue for 2013 - which would be about $2M. CUSA would be lucky to distribute $300K, maybe more if someone gets a BCS spot, for 2012.

We all know what happens after a bad year under GOL. I have high hopes for this year.

Cmon people. More votes, more votes! A sample size of 8 wouldn't fly anywhere
