Books You've Enjoyed Recently
I hated to read growing up, but I've taken a certain fondness to reading as I've grown older. Some of my favorites are:

The Hobbit: Prequel to The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (J. R. R. Tolkien)
Sherlock Holmes: The Sign of Four (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle)
The Time Machine (H.G. Wells)

What are you all reading?

I like to read science fiction. Battletech is my favorite.

You may recognize it from the video game spin off known as MechWarrior. The genre "universe" is massive, boasting over 120 novels, and one of the most indepth and realistic scifi stories I've ever come across.

RE: Books You've Enjoyed Recently
At the beginning of the summer and wanting some light reading, I visited a used book store in Nashville, found and bought several hardbacks by Lewis Grizzard, made it through two so far (Chili Dawgs Always Bark at Night, and I took a Lickin' and Kept on Tickin') and currently reading Shoot Low Boys, They're Ridin' Shetland Ponies.

I had read these many years ago but I always got a smile and sometimes a belly laugh from Grizzard's books.

Also am working through 'Inside of a Dog' by Alexandra Horowitz.

I haven't read The Sign of Four (was it good?) but I have read The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes and The Return of Sherlock HOlmes as well as Houd of the Baskervilles. Basically I've been cruising through all the free classic books that came loaded on my e-reader (that looked interesting atleast). Also by Arthur Conan Doyle that I read was The Lost World, you'd probably like it if you like the old school sci fi like The Time Machine.

Currently I'm reading The Count of Monte Cristo and so far it's very cool.

I'll check it out. The Sign of Four was great. I enjoyed A Study in Scarlet too, but the sign of four was much better so I thought. Was there a cartoon based on The Lost World that opens up with a bunch of (kids I think) white water rafting who get sucked into a whirlpool and travel back in time?

You're thinking Land of the Lost which is not based on this book I don't think but probably inspired by it, there are certainly similarities. And that was a live action show, a little before my time but they did play it on reruns when I was a kid. THey did a movie ofd it not long ago with Will Ferrel and Danny McBride. C- at best.
