SBC teams are losing AD's like flies. We're hearing a lot of rumblings up in Jonesboro that our AD will be out by the end of the year as well...

We'll in FAU's case it was time to go. He did a good job on getting facilites setup and day to day stuff done, however he had almost 0 skill at making it rain.

AD's need to have a mix of both IMHO.

It's on your website now.

But you might've been speaking in terms of "insider" leakings.

Change right now for TROY is a good thing I think, atleast as long as we get the right person in there. Outside of new building projects, I think our Athletic Department had grown stale on the last couple years. Time to get some new blood in there.

You can have our AD. He's all smoke and mirrors and claims success for others' work.

Many of our fans dont think ours is qualified enough to lead a growing Division 1 athletics program. He doesnt get along with John Brady at all, which doesnt help matters...

Wow, I was being dead serious and I think a lot of Scott. He did a good job while at Troy IMO.

Sounds like FAU's athletic department. We had an AD that had been there almost a decade who worked hard to get the stadium built but as that was happening, we kind of just hit a wall. Coaches and administrators got comfortable and everything just sort of stopped progressing forward. Change can be a good thing.

Well, it is like this:

He was passed over at Troy for the AD job before.

He is doing a good job at UL

UL is a pretty good gig so if he left I believe it would have to be for a higher profile job than Troy.

JMHO

Wow, I was being dead serious and I think a lot of Scott. He did a good job while at Troy IMO.

Scott did a great job as Asst. AD at Troy, but he hadn't had enough experience at the position to take on the AD role at that point in his career 7 1/2 years ago.

I think Scott has grown by leaps and bounds and if he were interested in the Troy position, I think he would be great as AD. I think a lot of his wife Jackie too and they were a big part of the Troy family while at Troy. When Johnny Williams left suddenly in 2004 right before Troy's first bowl game, a lot of it fell in Scott's lap to deal with, and with a tremendous amount of help from a lot of people, it worked out. I was a supporter of Scott having a shot at the AD position then, based on how he handled the bowl game situation and all, but I thought he was a little too green at the time, as did several of the decision makers, apparently.

after 7 1/2 years removed and with that much experience, I think he would be a great candidate.

No, man, it was tongue in cheek. I said shut up and go away because I want you to leave my AD alone.
