AT, I agree you that this game could be played before a full house at "The Ladd", weather permitting. I'll be there whether or not the doggone weather permits. Go Jaguars!

So USA read the rulebook and used the rules to their best advantage. They enter the league with better talent than should be expected from a start-up so we as a league get a program that has a less negative impact on our rankings.

Sounds like a good deal to me.

And it appears that only one conference coach is complaining.

i don't believe his whining has ANYTHING to do with building a rivalry.

i believe he's in excuse making mode already. he's just throwing it out there in the event that south al even gives 'em a game.

that way he can say....'i told yall they played dirty with the rules...they're not a normal startup'

a little sandbagging is all.

Blakeney doesn't care. He's set up nicely at Troy, and probably doesn't have many years left.

I hear he is the most well-liked opposing coach in the SBC, by media members. Heck, he calls our writers in the offseason just to "shoot the sh*t", and not even talk football.

On top of that, he's a Quote Machine, and easily approachable. Makes the reporters feel like "one of the guys".

RE: Blakeney Not Happy With NCAA Rule
Coaches are great guys for the most part but they are a whiney lot. It's the nature of the business.

If School B wins and they have a brand new high tech shoe... it must be the shoes.
If School B wins and they have walnut and cherry wood lockers... it must be the lockers.
If School B wins and they have 15 different uniform combinations... the uniforms are giving them a recruiting advantage.

I was talking to a person in compliance recently about the deregulation of text messages and they predicted there would be coaches so afraid of not staying in enough contact with recruits that they would lose recruits by texting too often.

We have a Siberian husky and a cairn terrier. We give them both rawhide bones and the husky finishes first and looks over with this "wish I had a bone" look while the cairn is still working on hers.

Coaches are like the rest of us. Any advantage we have, we earned and deserve, the advantage someone else has is just unfair.
