I'll take a shot

Sep. 1 Oklahoma – L

Sep. 8 at Ole Miss – L

Sep. 15 New Mexico St. – W

Sep. 22 at Wisconsin – L

Sep. 29 at East Carolina – L

Oct. 6 SMU – L (Could go either way)

Oct. 11 at Tulsa – L

Oct. 20 Tulane – W

Oct. 27 at Houston – W (we can't stop them, but will outscore them)

Nov. 10 UCF – L

Nov. 17 At Southern Miss – W (new coach, I think this is our lucky night of the season)

Nov. 24 Rice – W

Predicted Record: 5-7

But still..... Buh-Bye Coach Price.
Price needs a miracle over Wisc or OK, and a winning season to stay. And even then, it would only be a 1-2 year extension.

RE: 2012 UTEP Football Season Predection Thread
UTEP has tons of talent on offense back. 8 starters plus Jeffreys will step right in at running back and do an outstanding job. An injury free (hopefully) Lamaison behind an experienced and deep OL, will set records. Defense will be improved enough to help this team to a winning season. But Price will retire at the end of the year and go out with a bang!

Sep. 1 Oklahoma – L
Sep. 8 at Ole Miss – W
Sep. 15 New Mexico St. – W
Sep. 22 at Wisconsin – L
Sep. 29 at East Carolina – W
Oct. 6 SMU – W
Oct. 11 at Tulsa – W
Oct. 20 Tulane – W
Oct. 27 at Houston – W
Nov. 10 UCF – L
Nov. 17 At Southern Miss – W
Nov. 24 Rice – W

9-3 regular season plus an appearance for the first time in the CUSA champ game. Invite to the Ticket City Bowl in the old Cotton Bowl stadium in Dallas vs a Big Ten team and finally a bowl victory!

Then again, we usually Coog it somewhere but the rationale is wrong given how much UH's D has improved, especially at home, where we allowed 17.7 per game in 2011 minus the Southern Miss aberration, when they scored 4 non-offensive TD's for 28 of their 49. Even still, it only equals 22.1 per game at home the whole year.

It's tought for a team to adjust to a new coach/system in Year I.
But even with an outstanding QB, Houston was one play away from dropping the game with UTEP.

And that is why we play the games.

Very true, however that team you saw in EP was not the same one that finished the year, the title game fiasco aside.

Your Coogs lose considerable fire power from the offense and UH has a real possibility of losing several games, maybe even the UTEP game. I can see La Tech, UCLA, UTEP, ECU, Tulsa and Marshall all having a good chance to beat UH. I doubt you lose all those but likely a few. All those teams have enough coming back to get the job done.

Possible but we also have more talent this year, just less experience. If we played you in EP, I'd basically concede the loss but I think we win at the Rob.

I'd like to say I agree with you, however, the UH-UTEP series is anything but predictable.

RE: 2012 UTEP Football Season Predection Thread
In the end, IMO, the season rides on how well the O-line, and the D-line play.

If Lamison is not protected by the o-line, he will be hurt early in the season, and won't be given a chance to get the ball downfield.

If the D-line is swiss cheese, we won't stop anyone.

I supported Mike Price long after many in this town gave up on him. Last year however was the final straw. I appreciate everything he has done for the school but his time is done.

It's time for UTEP to find an eager young coach and start the rebuilding process.

RE: 2012 UTEP Football Season Predection Thread
I see a lot of you are putting a "L" next to SMU & UCF. There is no way in hell UTEP will lose to SMU and UCF at home!!! Those are two teams that UTEP has done well against at home in the past. SMU hasn't won in El Paso in awhile even under June Jones and UCF got destroyed 58-13 in their last trip in El Paso to a UTEP team that had the longest losting streak in the country in 2008 (which still stands as UCF's worst conference loss ever) probably because of the long travel distance!

According to a report, the defensive line will be the strength of the team this season as Andre Patterson now has his players. There are new coaches this season including the return of Brian Natkin. Nick Lamaison won pre-season conference honors and he is more experienced this season than many opposing quarterbacks. The season will depend of if Lamaison can stay healthy, the defense finally comes together this season like it should and most importantly if UTEP can finally start winning more games on the road. It's winning on the road that has been killing UTEP the most these past few seasons.
