Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV are coming to PS4 and Wii U. FFXIV ARR will be on PC, PS3, and PS4. Microsoft tried to force Square Enix to make its online capable games Xbox Gold only and on Xbox exclusive servers...
Add this to the other PS4 games announced, the fact that PS3 and earlier games will be playbale in some form, and the fact that online content is still going to be free, and the Xbox One is already in a lot of trouble.
The final dagger to the heart is Sony's $399 price point.

The price point sucks for sure but it's my understanding there will be a base model that retails for significantly less. I'm interested to see the comparison between the two models.
I also dislike that games won't be backward compatible but if I'm being 100% honest with myself I don't go back and play old titles very frequently. Plus the money I'd have to spend to convert said titles to PS4 wouldn't change much.
PS4 is flashier I'm sure but I will still be going with the Xbox One.

Imo, DRM and 24 hour check in was the only difference really...and if you count Sony making you pay to play online now. Yes you have to be ONLINE to play online.
But at the end of the day most of those things don't affect me. I don't take my Xbox anywhere, most of the games I play are multi-player based so I have to be online to play them, and I don't ever trade or sell my games.

That's cool. I freely admit that I am standing on principle here. I rarely sell games either. The trading/borrowing thing really bothers me because my brother and I trade games back and forth so much we can't even remember who bought what anymore.
If you read the articles I posted, you will see that there is more to that Kinect sensor always being on and having to check in with the internet every day than what Microsoft has publicly let on. Their long-term plans seem to involve trying to force their customers to watch ads and spend more money for less product. I am not okay with that.
PS online premium memberships can be had for 50 bucks a year. Is Xbox Live Gold still 25 bucks a month...often for the same access to the same games?

LOL - well most of the companies are money before everything else but I get what you're saying. Xbox Live Gold isn't $25/month. I buy a year for like $50 and sometimes you can find them on sale on Amazon for like $30.
My husband and I play the same games and we both play online so we usually just buy 2 of everything and since I play upstairs in front of a large window it wouldn't be prudent of me to not be wearing clothes.

I think Microsoft is pushing towards a machine that is more than just gaming. It wants to be the entertainment hub of your house... whether it is TV, streaming video, video games, PPV, all of it comes through them. I don't necessarily have a problem with that. Hell, I have a media center PC that pushes all my TV to 3 xb360s around my house now. Why? Because it is MUCH cheaper than paying for a DVR from any TV provider out there. I pay $40 a month for digital cable and 2 cable cards, I have 2 HD Home Runs that allow me to have 6 feeds running at any given time. I had essentially unlimited hard disk space for DVRs, I have my entire movie collection and music collection digitized and ready to play at a moments notice. That is what sold me on the xb360 and that is why, probably about a year from now, I'll finally end up buying an xbx1.
Oh, and kinect is a lot cooler than the play station equivalent. :)

$25 a month was the price point for Xbox Live Gold membership plus subscription fee for putting Final Fantasy XIV on the Xbox 360. I used a number I remembered instead of looking it up. Mea culpa.
In any case, you are going to have to pay the fee for the Xbox One even for single player games. You will only need to pay for multiplayer for PS4.
The Move sensor is being integrated into the standard controller for the PS4.
The articles I linked to above show that Microsoft has patents that would allow the Xbox One to target ads to you based on everything saved on it plus whatever the Kinect sensor 'sees'. The sensor would also be able to tell whenever you look away. All of this information will be uploaded to Microsoft every single day. I already use Chrome with adblock to surf the net. I absolutely hate the idea of a company tracking my playing and web usage, let alone using that data to target ads for me that I can't look away from.
Downloaded the Columns game for GameGear on the 3DS eshop today. Still as good as the console ones I had gotten off the WiiVC. Like the fact that they kept multiple music and multiple block themes on this game. Its a good puzzler for portable pick up and play.
Serious question. How in the hell can you play COD after playing Battlefield? How brainwashed are people? BF3/BFBC2 are 10 times better than COD. Dice needs to step up their marketing...
If any of you got around to playing metalheadmaggot on Xbox Live, yeah that was me in my younger days. I used to round the bases on Battlefield 3 and the last three Call of Duty titles. Say what you will, I got a kick out of roadkilling people in the MAV on Tehran highway.
