NEW ORLEANS - ESPN and the Sun Belt Conference announced today that ESPN3 will carry portions of the conference's Football Media Day in New Orleans on July 16.

The collaboration with ESPN3 for media day will mark the first time ever that the Sun Belt Conference has distributed the event to a national audience.

"We are very excited to have ESPN3 as a distributor for our annual Football Media Day," said Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Karl Benson. "We have an outstanding relationship with ESPN that provides us significant opportunities to promote our league and our institutions. The presence of ESPN3 at our Football Media Day will give viewers an inside look at our event and will show that the Sun Belt Conference is a growing power in collegiate football."

What exactly is media day?

I'm glad to hear we are not doing a teleconference this year. I know it saves money, but let's "splurge" a little from time to time.
