Smooth Jazz
Any smooth jazz fans out there? I just started listening last year but now I'm asking myself what took so long? I especially like jazz vocals. Here are some of my faves so far...

And of course you see Paul Hardcastle's Sound of Summer in my sig.

To post a video, go to the "new reply" screen. In the tool bar, on the far right is an old-fashioned TV with bunny ears. Click that and a list drops down. Click on youtube and C&P the URL in to the window that pops up.

RE: Smooth Jazz
Why did this get moved? Especially when there other off topic threads on the main C-USA board like that about electronic dance?

RE: Smooth Jazz
I'm not sure what your referring to when you state smooth Jazz? I really like Jazz and was influenced by a former friend that was in CCM at UC. He was a classical guitar major but played bass in Jazz bands and performed a number of times with Jazz groups at CCM informally. I like Pat Methany. He's a brilliant electric guitar player and always surrounds himself with a great cast of Jazz musicians. Here is his website.

RE: Smooth Jazz
Often times, such as on Sirius XM and and on your cable provider's music channel, there will be a choice for smooth jazz and classic/real/regular jazz. I don't know how to explain it but just listen for a while and it will be obvious what the difference is. Regular jazz it seems is what was going in the middle of the 20th Century with people like Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong while smooth jazz is much more common today.
