UTSA at 6-6. That is about the best I have seen them rated.

No way UTSA has that record. 3-9 at best and zero wins in the WAC

If UTSA manages to beat NMSU and Idaho in just their 2nd season of existence, I think it says more about NMSU and Idaho than it does about UTSA...

I see 2-10 or at best 3-9 for UTSA. I cant believe Dave Campbell has them at 6-6.

If UTSA manages to beat NMSU and Idaho in just their 2nd season of existence, I think it says more about NMSU and Idaho than it does about UTSA...

"New Mexico State and Idaho should provide tempting opportunities for both Texas State and UTSA to earn their first FBS conference victories. The Aggies return just four starters on either side of the ball with just one all-conference pick, and worse yet will be breaking in a green quarterback and an entire new secondary.

Idaho is in an equally tough spot. The Vandals who appear to have fallen back to earth after a brief spurt of success in 2009 & 2010 welcome back just nine starters overall, none of whom made all-conference. Though the secondary offers a little hope for the defense, the middle of the two deep could be a soft spot.... only
two offensive linemen are back and the front seven returns just one linebacker and one defensive lineman."

But seriously, UTSA in in their second season. Idaho and NMSU should have a 2nd string better than UTSA's first string. He is kidding himself.

I doubt that, but we will find out soon ! UTSA is returning 21 starters, of which a number are FBS transfers. Football season can't get here fast enough !

I wouldnt expect as a matter of course any upgrading FCS program to defeat any existing FBS program on the road. I'd also presume that Idaho and NMSU are up for UTSA.

UTSA goes winless against FBS.

They started their program LAST YEAR. How many starters did you expect them to return?

The hardest part of any start up program is the ability to gel at game time and they just haven't had enough reps. But you never know and there is always an underdog who surprises the experts out there. I will say that they keep some of the games close and may steel one.

The team has at least 11 transfers, including from Penn State, Miss & Oklahoma state plus a number of JCs. They aren't exactly fielding a team of only recent high school grads.

don't mind tptotptotpptpotptotptotp... He's not too good with words, but at least he's not terribly bright.

Given the strength (overall) of UTSA's schedule, I could see them approaching .500 this year. I think they stand a decent shot at beating one of the two between Idaho & NMSU.

Rev
This is the same team that lost to a DIII team with a former Southland Coach at the helm. I have them winning two to three tops and could end with one win over Northwestern Oklahoma. A & M Commerce is going to test them at home.
