USA Olympic Trials
I haven't seen any reports about Sun Belt participants in the Olympic Track & Field Trials being held in Eugene, Oregon. If anyone has an update on their athletes who might have gone, let us know. If anyone has made the team in other sports, again, let us know. Be proud!

For ULM, senior Richard McKay qualified for the finals in the javelin. He had the 11th best throw of the day (Saturday) and made the final round field of twelve. The javelin finals will be held Tuesday. The top four...if they've made the Olympic qualifying standard...will make the US Olympic team.

RE: USA Olympic Trials
Former Louisiana triple jumper Lawrence Willis competes today, but I could not find any live results even though the event has started.

Also, Jasmine Manuel qualified in the triple jump but the university would not foot the bill for travel expenses or coaches. Being a former track athlete myself it is disappointing that this happens quite often.

I know. Unless you're a "star" with the Olympic Training Center you get very little support. The system says "yes, you've qualified and we're providing a venue to give you a chance to compete. Hope you can make it here."
