No offense but did you just make this 01-rivals up?

FAU won a confrence championship in 2007 and FIU did as well in 2010.

Look we get it. Tech is a decent performer and has many proud alums. Since you got what you wanted in CUSA there really is no need to keep spouting off how great Tech is here.

TRUST me, we are VERY aware of how ya'll feel about your school. Many people here disagree though and Tech posters should be able to understand that. Dont take it personal, we just dont feel that Tech is superior to the majority of SBC teams. We feel you are on par and thats about it.

I doubt we will ever feel differently.

04-cheers

The guy said he didn't know what the attraction was to Tech and I responded that we are fortunate that there is slim pickings. I was just illustrating how slim the pickings are. Tech is not very attractive, but who is?

It is almost pointless. On a rare occasion I feel I've pointed out their flawed logic to some of the more base posters there...probably not.

MTSU has a good market so it is a little puzzling why they fell so far down the list. My guess is that there are concerns whether MTSU could become a very good football program given that they have not been extremely successful in the SB, and Tennessee does not produce a lot of football talent which makes recruiting difficult. Although FIU has not been good until recently, they are located in a recruiting hot bed which gives them high marks in the "potential" category. Same for ODU. It seems MTSU is a case where performance on the field and "potential" to elevate the football program may be factoring in. Just a thought. I may be completely wrong.

I agree with what you have stated, 1 or 2 yrs of success in an area not known for football talent is not a plus. If market was not an issue, Troy would be in.

He's been sucking up to the CUSA crowd for the past couple of years. I'm surprised to see him posting on here so much lately.

Never have understood the attraction of La Tech. Mediocre facilities, average program - 2 winning seasons in the last 5 years - and averaged more than 20,000 in attendance 1 out of the last 5 seasons. Heck, they didn't even sell out for SEC Miss State in 2008.

Fortunately for Tech, there is no one better in our neck of the woods.

Must say I have to admire your honesty. Hard to understand why Louisiana has 11 D-I scholarship football programs in a state of 4.5 mil. By comparison NC with a population is 9.7 mil has 9 (soon to be 10) programs. When we played LSU a few years back we rode over to Nicholls State. I was shocked by what I saw. There are high schools in NC with much better facilities than those folks. Sad.
