Not doom and gloom by any means, but no real earth-shattering news. Basically just stated that there have been talks that cannot be made public, by the end of the month we should have a better idea of "how we fit into the puzzle" and that the three logical options are CUSA, MAC and Sun Belt. Nothing that we did not already know but he did sound like a move was imminent and a matter of when, not if.

Interesting but not particularly surprising. I'm still of the opinion that a move will not be made by the deadline, but after June 1 for membership in an FBS conference beginning 2014.

Edit: If the Sun Belt doesn't move, the MAC makes a lot of sense in order to balance out UMass and also balance the divisions at 7 apiece.

Conspiracy theorist in Statesboro were all over the fact that a notice was sent out to support our last push for the 7th national championship this fall and a few people made a big stink about it.

I found it intersting that Cobb mentioned a possible FBS conference with FCS schools moving up. I had heard that rumor before but I was surprised he threw that out there unprovoked when he mentioned the SBC, CUSA and MAC as potential landing spots.

I have heard this rumor dating back as far as 2000. App, Ga. Southern, JMU, that "L" word that seems to envoke angst, etc...
I don't see why to balance the Mac, they don't just invite LU, then you and App come here. Everybody is happy that can move up right now.

I remember in 2005 when we played Georgia Southern in the playoffs we were getting creamed in the first half and we came back and put it on them 50-35. I definitely rushed the field that day.

That's when GaSo started hiring a new coach each month for awhile it seemed like. The only time that I had to sometimes really wonder who your coach was. I thought VanGorder was the worst, didn't he leave the Falcons recently? . Liked the one you fired a couple of years ago that went to Murray State. Can't stand Monken (he is too good).

Imagine it. GaSo and TXST playing for the conference Championship. That would be crazy. Or perhaps TXST playing AppSt like we should have that year.

I really wish Benson would jump on App State and get them in.
