RE: UTA or NMSU?
NMSU and its basketball program would make a great addition.

As others have mentioned, the best scenario is to have both UTA and NMSU join along with ASU. Within five years this would be a very solid in football and respectable in basketball.

So unless UT-Arl turns down the request this thread is moot.
Unless there is other news or I'm forgetting something that has already been reported; what are we talking about here?
espn does not hand out the invites.....

What's your point? Have or have not the Mavericks been invited to the Sun Belt? My guess is that you have.

Secondly, do you believe that the Mav's will accept the invite (or go back to the Southern or whatever once the WAC disintagrates)?

If the answer to these two questions are 'yes', then, like I said, this thread is moot.

First point, like most realignment. Everyone knows its going to happen, they just have to get it blessed by the governing body.

As for going back to the Southland,
I am sure the conference would let them back in since they do not have a presence in Dallas. However, UTA moved with TXST and UTSA to keep up with the 'peers'. Going back to the Southland is geographically conducive, but don't elevate their programs (athletic and academic).

So again; sounds like a 'done deal' = moot thread.
