I know were still a few months away from kick-off, but i figured this would be a good time to get away from realignment a little bit and hear everyone's opinion on what you guys expect from your team this 2012 season and where you might place conference wise?

Who will be bowl eligible & what will the conference standings look like?

TROY, will be the "TROY" everyone knows.
Offense: will be looking to get back in the game with more experience and depth at most positions. Receivers should be the best in conference (my opinion) and Corey should have a field day throwing bombs in the end zone. Running backs have never been deeper, stronger and ready to go....(4) deep, all experienced. Im looking for the offense to dominate.

Defense: Looking to change things up to a 3-4/ 4-3 hybrid. Spring was a learning session where a lot of the players were getting familiar with the new system. I feel good about the guys we have. We have a lot of quality players coming back that adds on to the experience.We managed to pick up a # of stand out JUCO players (CB's, SS, LB's, DL, DE) to come in and work for a starting position. I was fairly impressed how the leadership role picked up over the course of the spring. The defense started off slow, learning the new defense but picked it up towards the end. We have some big boys coming in this summer that should make an impact for us on defense. I look for us to improve and be ready to go defensively by September 1st.

FAU is the great unknown.

New offense, New Defense, New Coach, New attitude.

I cant even make a predection other then I think we will win more then 1 game this year. There is talent on this team, I just hope they can adapt to the new system.

I see MT as a surprising 7-5. Lot of youth and I believe Kilgore will be replaced early in the season with S. White. This kid is going to be special.
Haven't kept up with the other teams but I know Troy will rebound.

I fully expect USA to win a couple against teams we SHOULD beat; lose to one we SHOULD beat and win one, maybe even two against a team we have no business beating. Probably 3-5 wins in the end.

I hope we don't have to wait that long! That's our last conference game. Would make for a nice Thanksgiving though.

Ha. I was actually thinking about that. I plan on going to the UNT game. My folks live in Austin so we'll actually have a decent little family group going to Denton for the day. I would love to make that trip even more worth while and send UNT on their way with an L.

Haven't kept up with the other teams but I know Troy will rebound.

If Kilgore doesn't stop the Jekyll/Hyde act, we may very well see White sooner, rather than later.


There's plenty of talent to have a top 3 Belt finish, but we are possibly the most dysfunctional team i've seen in 20 years of watching football. Any guess as to where MT might finish is just a shot in the dark.

Troy's defense should be much better since we snagged a Boise State coach to be our CB/Secondary coach. Now our DC doesn't have to split his time with coaching the CB's since that was probably one reason they sucked so bad.
