Baseball scores May 4th-6th
ASU takes the first two games over USA, 8-1 on Friday and 6-1 on Saturday.

ASU is now 14-7 in SBC play and remains in 2nd place. They will clinch a league tourney berth with a win tomorrow.

I know FAU has taken the first two over WKU, any other scores?

TROY and ULL are split at 1-1.

On Friday, TROY had an impressive comeback scoring 5 runs in the 9th to tie it up, but ULL used a suicide squeeze to win it in 11.

On Saturday TROY used a CG 4 hitter from Joe Hernandez to beat a ULL team that looked like a middle school team on defense. They commited 4 errors and seemed to do nothing right (TROY has looked that a few times this season! We feel your pain!). TROY won 8-1 but 7 of those runs were unearned.

I was thinking it was five errors, but you're right.... We stunk up our own diamond today, and props to the Trojans. Rubber game tomorrow at 1:00.

Man, what a bad year this has been...

Oh, and to top it off, Cajuns softball dropped game one 4-2 to ULM, but took game two 8-3. Solid performance by the Warhawks! Cajuns drop to 45-3. I should add, however, that all three Cajuns losses were to Sun Belt teams.

Rubber game at noon.

ASU clinces an SBC Tourney berth and moves within a series win of a top 2 league finish with a 2-1 comeback victory to sweep USA.

USA's Sunday starter dominated for 8 innings, but a leadoff bunt single by our cleanup hitter started a streak of 5 straight baserunners without recording an out to end the game. Freshman Alex Potts gets the game winning RBI on a bases loaded single to right.

ASU's pitching staff holds the leagues best offense to 3 runs all weekend.

Yeah, USA held onto a 1-0 lead the entire game, but messed it up in the 9th. Congrats to ASU, who swept the Jags for the first time ever.

I did find that interesting, that the Cajuns only three losses were in conference contests. Maybe the Sun Belt is tougher than most people on the outside think it is?

TROY scores 3 in the 9th takes game 3 from ULL 10-8. TROY goes 2-1 over the weekend and is tied w/ UALR and WKU and have ULM/USA in Troy over the final two weekends.

TROY is 1 game back of ULM and 2 games back of USA. We are in a great position to move on up in the standings over the next couple weeks!

I believe Potts is a Junior...but a heck of a hit nonetheless. When Raffo sent him up I thought "what the heck". I am not sure he has a .200 average but he did come through.
