Texas-Arlington to SBC
Sounds like Mr. Benson has his 12 members.
Guess the Sun Belt is through.

Like we figured.

CUSA had the big splash today and this would of gotten overshadowed. Make it "Official" next week with a presser and then the final decesion on whether to get 2 more for a Championship game in football.

We're not through. We're just at a point now that we can stop for a few days and assess where we are. Then the decision will be made about a football title game.

So that means Ga. Southern and App St. are in the hunt for that bid.

Nope and nope.

I promise you neither are in the hunt this go round.

"But...but...your commissioner mentioned..."

I promise you that neither Liberty or Jax State are being considered right now.

RE: Texas-Arlington to SBC
Benson said those schools contacted him, not the other way around. He said he's talked with both App and GSU, which still doesnt mean much, but is slightly better than him saying they basically raised their hands to be counted. Talked seems to indicate a two way conversation. Contacted, one way, thats how I see it anyways.

I know this is future thinking but what if UTA gets a football program within the next 5 years? And we add Southern and App State. Uneven divisions? Or does the 'Belt add another team?

Maybe when somebody picks off another cusa team, who in turn picks off another belt team, the belt will add Arlington FB and 1 other school. Same thing happen if CUSA decides to go to 16 in a couple years too.

So...the Movin' Mavs are back.....images of Snake LeGrand. He was a hoot as UTA's BB coach in the late '70's early '80's.

It isn't true.

If those were our options we'd stay at 10/12.

RE: Texas-Arlington to SBC
Liberty should consider themselves lucky if they even get into the CAA and Jacksonville State certainly has no shot at the Sun Belt at this time. Just because those two schools called Karl Benson, and he admitted to the media that they called him, doesn't mean they will be future members of the Sun Belt Conference.
