Basketball? Atlanta sounds good, so does New Orleans. I'd rather it be in a big city rather than a little town in the middle of nowhere (cough hot springs).

This. For FB, that emphasizes the regular season, rewards the best team in the conference, likely great attendance, good showing on tv = helping to change "perception", etc.

BB - I'd be fine with either of those.

Hot Springs has made it clear they want us there. Atlanta and New Orleans are great idea, but neither will want us there nearly as badly as Hot Springs does. You can only play the hand your dealt.

True enough, but I'm hopeful that at some point cost-benefit comes in to play, and we can make one of those types of sites work.

Cost benefit is likely going to always favor Hot Springs. Don't see one of those major cities cutting us the sweetheart deal that Hot Springs has.
