I surely hope that the presidents of our schools know how bad the Idaho trip can be---the other point is that the COST OF THE TRIP takes away from any advantage!!!

I did the math when I was in school...a road trip to see the Cajuns play in Moscow, Idaho would take 39-40 hours to get there by car. That's leaving on a Friday...hoping it's a night game...and having to leave immediately after the game. God I'm glad that they left. No to Moscow...

I lived in Spokane in the early to mid-70s and Spokane was firmly focused on Washington State and the PAC10 (at that time) . . I doubt that has changed much, if at all.

I lived in ABQ for many years and NMSU has a good presence in ABQ. New Mexico is much like Arkansas in that it has only two FBS schools. The feeling of many in ABQ was that Las Cruces was more Texan than New Mexican due to its proximity to El Paso and Texas. That is why I could live with NMSU in the SBC West Division . . it is really like adding a far West Texas school such as UTEP.

altho far away, nmsu would be a real boost to sbc basketball prestige.
