Is there any talk of Liberty Univ to the Sun Belt? I have no dog in the hunt on this. I have no connection to Liberty, but a friend of my daughter's went there to play football and they seem to have a good fan base, are fairly competitive on the FCS level and I'm given to understand they want to move up to FBS. I realize the Falwell association may make them a little too toxic. Just wondering.

It's been discussed before but it's (IIRC) an overwhelming NO! from the majority. There are many issues and I remember some people being adamant that we don't want a "diploma mill" school in our conference or something like that. I don't like them and I doubt many do on here.

There's been no talk. Besides they are too far away, too polarizing, and they are also a PRIVATE school. Not a fit on many levels.

CUSA you just stepped into that role as well with UNCC and ODU.

FCS & FCS Start-up pie all in the face...........CUSA has no ground to talk.

18 posts and already -16 reputation. I'd venture to say your IQ is somewhere around 16, makes sense. I can't wait to see UTSA get stomped over the next 4 years and see how many of these die hards fizzle out. What a disrespectful, unworthy pompous arrogant fanbase. I'm embarrassed to call them conference mates unfortunately.

Loving all of this App State support from you guys, and let me say that the feeling seems to be mutual from most of the App fan base.

Sun Belt is a perfect fit for us, and if we are lucky enough to get in I know we plan to be there for the long haul. Hoping our administration sees that and is doing everything humanly possible to get in with Georgia Southern.

So the Roadrunners were victims of homecooking on their own turf? First time I've heard this as the reason for U-T-SA losing to the Jags.

Amen brother. utsa, uncc, and odu make no sense, other than satisfying Marshall and ECU.

Careful guys! This is the evil genius who got inside our player's heads via twitter last season and caused our defeat in San Antonio! Oh wait....scratch that last part.

You took the words right out of my mouth. These utsa sleezeballs are going to be an embarrassment to CUSA.

So I guess McMurry Bible College (what division are they in again?) brought their own officials when they beat UTSA at the Alamodome last year? Are you guys making a return trip to their stadium? I think you could fill it up with some free tickets http://www.d2football.com/stadiums/mcmurry/t373/

UPDATE: McMurry is in the process of upgrading to D-II. They weren't even that last year.

And that's fine. They needed to do it and it made sense for them. I have no issue with it.

I just don't EVER want to have a CUSA fan spout off about how the SBC sucks because of all the FCS move ups that are in it. That confrence does it as well.

CUSA isn't CUSA anymore...

hell, the BE is more CUSA than CUSA is...Memphis, Louisville, Cincy, USF, Houston, Marquette, DePaul...it's a vamped up CUSA 2.0

It is rather amazing, UCF and SMU makes 9.

Similary, isn't the Mountain West close to the same group of schools as WAC of the early 90s, sans UTAH and BYU?
