There are combinations that are quite appealing and logical that make sense geographically and have tons of potential to be a quality conference.

But they include some smaller markets and include some FCS schools and that makes them non-starters no matter how much sense they make or long-term potential they have.

Maybe next go-around.

Of course not...because they are trying to put Humpty back together again rather than building the best possible new thing. Humpty is dead and he ain't coming back but it may take a few years of pain before that realization sinks in.

Here is the actual quote..

That in no way shape or form says that UTEP is leaving and sounds like the merger is planning on an expanded BB schedual
