I think it is easier to read now. Good idea with filling in the boxes where there are no changes. My next suggestion is to shade the 2013 moves in blue, make Pitt/Syracuse white, and turn Navy blue to make it even easier on the eyes.

Also, North Dakota has been in the Great West in both sports and is going to the Big Sky in both sports, Southern Utah was in the Great West in football and will be heading to the Big Sky in both sports, and Georgia State will play CAA football this year so their move is CAA to Sun Belt in both sports.

Finally for now, Denver is going from the Sun Belt to the WAC in basketball this year, and Seattle is going from Independence to the WAC in basketball this year. Now watch a bunch of moves happen next week to give you more work.

You might want to consider some sort of shorthand to show that, like writing their conference names in lowercase. Those movements will be relevant to fans of bottom tier FBS conferences when realignment trickles down to them and they have look to the FCS ranks for replacements. All FCS conferences are not equal, in fact there's an even steeper hierarchy at that level than in FBS due to all the varying scholarship levels. The FCS teams that abandoned the non-AQ Great West for the Big Sky and MVFC definitely improved their positions, as will Stony Brook if they make the rumored move to the CAA.

Looking better, chart updated.

Agreed. Just a reminder about North Dakota (Great West to Big Sky in both sports) and Southern Utah (Great West FB / Summit BB to Big Sky in both sports).

I think the lowercase FCS and DII make it look too busy again. Most of us know which leagues are FBS or FCS. I would just write D2, rather than the league.

Finally, since this chart is kind of tracking the demise of the Great West, I would go ahead and also include the South Dakota, UC Davis, and Cal Poly moves.

Allow me to refer you to the chart's explanation (see OP). I'm not tracking FCS to FCS shifts.

It's already on there. Derby listed Temple football under 2012 and Temple basketball under 2013. The Owls are so special they get two entries.

Why is Houston Baptist listed?

They're D-I and they moved from the GWC to the SLC and are starting fb. UN-Omaha is on there too. They went from D-II to Summit.

What conference are you in? "Well, we're in the Big East and Big West."

Boy, that's kind of oxymoronic isn't it?

Before anybody can say sour grapes from and ECU fan, just trying to find a little humor, that is all.

It would be even more so if they were in the west division of the Big East and the East division of the Big West.

You really don't think it's strange that you are showing the basketball moves for those two schools while completely ignoring their football teams as if they don't exist?

No one is saying you have to include every FCS to FCS switch, just those of the Great West members, since you are tracking their basketball changes. Be a bit flexible.

Congratulations on also being correct of North Dakota's logo: it is still the Sioux (after a statewide petition to rescind a law that rescinded the nickname, which had previously been reinstated by the legislature). A statewide vote is coming up in June.

There are only three different lawsuits currently ongoing, one of which is a federal case where the Spirit Lake Sioux are sueing the NCAA for discrimation.

That is awesome.

Then HBU leaves the GW in 2013, leaving them at 4. Will the GW disband? Even so, how can a 5 team conference be sanctioned? I thought the NCAA minimum was 6.

Just curious.

Until this year, the NCAA didn't even recognize the Great West as a conference. Even after recognition, the NCAA hasn't decided whether the Great West can grant DI offers to DII institutions so the conference can continue. To survive, the Great West's only option is to offer DII schools, and DII schools may not even accept the offer, especially with the $1.2 million fee to move up to DI (and no conference money from the Big Dance). With less than six full members, the Great West won't gain autobids. (Men's basketball would take seven more years with seven full members to gain that autobid.)

However, there are sports where the Great West likely continues. Baseball, for example, where New York Tech, N Colo, and soon, S Utah don't have a DI baseball home.

Don't you love the government? Er..., NCAA. 04-cheers
