stAte tries to keep NFL Draft streak alive
Demario Davis should be drafted, making it 6 years in a row in which an Arkansas State football player was drafted.
2012 - Demario Davis,?,?
2011 - Derek Newton, 7th, Houston
2010 - Alex Carrington, 3rd, Buffalo
2009 - David Johnson, 7th, Pittsburgh
2008 - Tyrell Johnson, 2nd, Minnesota
2007 - Oren O'neal, 6th, Oakland
stAte hasn't had a streak like this since the 1-AA days ('86-'91) - do most Sun Belt Schools have at least one player drafted every year these days?

TROY over that span
2011:
Jerrel Jernigan (3, Giants)
2010:
Cameron Sheffield (5, Chiefs)
Jorick Calvin (6, Cardinals)
Levi Brown (7, Bills)
2009:
Sherrod Martin (2, Panthers )
2008:
Leodis McKelvin (1, 11th over all, Bills)
2007:
Brannon Condren (4, Colts)
OL James Brown is projected in the middle/late rounds this year (5 or 6).

2009 appears to be missing therefore the streak would be from 2010

Figured Troy would be in there, some nice NFL pick-ups.

Just comparing the same time period. May not be a streak, but 3 in one draft class, first I've seen at this level. With 22 fewer schollies, its pretty impressive.

Apparently I was off by a few rounds...
Per Drew Champlin (the TROY beat writer)
"...Shaughnessy (TROY's S&C coach) said James Brown was a solid second-round pick" and he would be suprised if he fell to the third...
The link also has a few more comments about TROY's other draftable guys (Massaquio and a few others) and some stats from their Junior Day.

Don't really keep up with the draft and was wondering who is the highest projected draft pick out of the Sun Belt? I always enjoy watching a sun belt alum do well in the NFL.

Not sure, but from the Cajuns, Ladarius Green is projected for the third round at TE and Dwight Bentley in either the second or third round at corner.

I'd say it's a toss up between super Demario Davis from stAte and the TE from Louisiana.

RE: stAte tries to keep NFL Draft streak alive
According to the sports editor at the Jonesboro Sun in this morning's draft article, the only non-AQ schools with streaks as long as Troy's and stAte's are East Carolina, Central Florida, and Fresno State - whose streak has reached 11.
Steve Roberts and staff were pretty good at projecting those overlooked players.
