Gus pumping spring game
So my man Gus just went on the local 10 o'clock news and did a live 5 minute interview/ad during the sports about the spring game - I've never seen such aggressive promotion for a spring game.

But, if Gus fails to get 10K out there at $5 per head - and he will - at least he busted his ass trying!

Good crowd paid to see the Red Wolves play the spring game today. 6,115 per the student newspaper. Pretty good considering it was televised locally.

I think 6,115 for a televised ASU Spring Game you had to pay to get into qualifies as "pretty good".

RE: Gus pumping spring game
We had 4,214 fans for our spring game, which is the most we've had in a while. Nice to see Sun Belt schools getting some support. Ours was defense - dominated this year, with the "D" winning 40-17 (special points scoring system). Looks like we still might need work on the turnover bug...

I'm sure that shattered previous spring game attendance. I've been to several and the highest attendance i've seen was about 2k

ASU red beat ASU black 28-14.

Aplin thought he was playing ULL and threw for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns. Our third string QB Zach Davis ran for one, and some guy named Dyer rushed for 85 yards and had a recieving touchdown.

We'd tell you what the plays looked like but Malzahn's orders are to not share anything that we saw. Heck he wouldnt even let the game be streamed online. It was on a digital cable channel in NEA only. We dont want anyone seeing our secret plans now.

Went to the game and stayed for a half. Nice crowed!

ASU has some very good athletes on both sides of the ball.

The wind, and several players sitting out, really effected the passing game but they still made some nice plays, and they are much stronger running the ball. They are going to be a load on that side of the ball.

Defense was better than I expected.

Defense lost the most talent with 3 NFL claiber guys leaving. I think the defense will be solid when the 3 kids from Blinn arrive in the fall along with Dexter Blackmon and more DBs. The CBs are going to be bigger than they've been before.

On offense, consider that we only lost Frampton and McKissic is a faster version of him. McCants looked good today. Griswold is a TE talent we haven't had in a long time. The RBs will be the best group in the league this year when the freshmen get here (especially if Dyer were somehow able to play).
