Jeff Godfrey considering staying at UCF?
He's flirting with staying at UCF according to his twitter. I don't know if he's serious or just wants the attention.

Bottom line, if it were up to you whether he signs back on or hits the road, what would you say?

RE: Jeff Godfrey considering staying at UCF?
After the tantrum he and his 'people' threw, he should not expect anyone here to welcome him back. He torched all of the good will he had here ("I don't get enough play time...even through I started every game and played myself onto the bench in nearly all of them").

I guess it's been much harder to find a transfer school than he thought.

How many people think that he might make a switch to DB?

He's taller than JRob, almost as fast, and is an amazing athlete.

Do you think with the success JRob is seeing pre-draft, Godfrey saw his ticket into the NFL? 'Cause we all know that is his goal, and he'd have to be supremely blind if the thinks he's going to go in as a quarterback.

I think we could definitely use JG on the team, but at this point I wonder if he would take more away than he can give. Not only would Godfrey returning be a hit to team chemistry (team leader is coddled all season despite poor play and leaves anyways, allowing his dad and Uncle Luke to give enlightened reasons why), but I do not see how him being back on the team is good for Blake. Bortles already has competition in Gabbert, I do not think it does anything but say "it's now your team, but the guy whose team it was before is back, so now we're not as sure. Good luck!"

RE: Jeff Godfrey considering staying at UCF?
Godfrey's speed is an asset that any mid-major program would want to have; his size, character and attitude aside. That said, I think it would be in UCF's best interest to try and keep him and see if he's willing to move to slot receiver, flanker, or WR2. Get him the ball on short screens, end arounds, sweeps, etc. and turn him loose. He was great in open field, but failed miserably as a QB against better defenses and tougher competition in his 2nd year with the team. No way he beats out Bortles or Gabbert in camp. His only chance now for playing time is special teams (he'd be killer as a punt returner) and/or slot receiver. But something tells me O'Leary has no history/experience using those kinds of players.

If he agrees to abide by whatever conditions GOL puts on him and shows he will be a team player (meaning playing wherever he is needed even if it isn't QB), I have no issues with him coming back.

I would welcome Godfrey back. We should utilize him in a slash type role.
