speaking of TROY's new arena- here are some recent shots someone got last week I think that are posted on gotroytrojans.com:

Very nice...not enough seating but given the choice I would pick fewer seats...just don't know if I would go with that much fewer.

The Trojan Arena is going to be expandable from what I have heard there's just no reason to build it big until we start filling a 5k arena. And if that day ever comes Troy will just work with the city in building a 10k multisports complex.

FWIW: The bleacher section that "collapsed" wasn't opened for the NIT game - it was the only one not to be opened. (Section 'D'). Shouldn't be too hard to replace the broken bleachers just to have some continuity in the arena.

"no major upgrades besides seats and maybe a scoreboard" What do you think a few thousand new chair backs is, a 'minor' upgrade? I wouldn't say The Murph is as good as the "nice" schools you mentioned but I wouldn't say it's a "bad" arena. Your list is not well though out with your "nice" and "bad" catergories. I would add one more that I would put Murphy Center in: "Ok"

the steps alone make it a 'bad' arena.

throw in the 'plywood' bathrooms and you need some work.

once you're in your seat it's not a bad place to watch a ballgame if the hoops ignorance of surrounding fans doesn't reach your ears.

fix the steps and quit using outhouses for bathrooms and you improve a ton.

I've noticed most of the people that take issue with the place are WKU fans. It's not a great arena but it's not bad. Chairbacks and suites to replace the wood bleachers would help a lot...maybe squeeze in an extra bathroom if we can.

What? We've lost maybe 500 seats, even with all the temporary seating removed our arena still seats more than a good number of arenas in this conference, including your new one I'm pretty sure.

I think you missed my point completely.........I am thank full that no one was hurt since it was not long ago when the arena was full.......there may have been injurys or worse......I was thanking God for the fact that the collapse did not occur when the large NIT crowd was there......absolutely no cut at having anything wrong with the facility.
