No one cheated end story and if we were going to cheat it would at least be in a sport that mattered. I wasn't there when this happened but just take the series with class.

Not complaining about the field. Just making a point that all the infields I've seen are dirt. The Cajuns drag the fields and then wet (hose usually) the field before each game (including double headers). I think it's to hold down dust.

That is standard procedure at any softball field.

Or baseball field.

It wasn't cheating. If it was purposefully done, it was being strategic. Nothing in the rule book about how much water should be applied. Same thing in baseball how some teams will keep the grass long or short depending on their and their opponents style to try to gain an advantage.

Once again this all sounds like squabbling of women, about women. The Cajuns won the series end story. And if your upset about losing one of the games deep down inside you were bound to lose one eventually.

I expected to lose a conference game, and would rather it be against Troy, who has some good wins, than against others. I also don't think there was anything unfair going on as I don't think an 800 win coach would stoop to field modifications to try to win a game. The Cajuns lost the game because they gave up 7 runs in the final two innings, and didn't score after the second inning. Credit Troy's pitcher for keeping it a game until they solved Brignac for the final two.

I'd also credit the Cajuns for solving Rainey on Sunday.

RE: Not Cool Troy
The first RPI rankings have been released today and Troy came in at #28, so it should come as no surprise that they took at least one from us, especially on their own turf. I am just grateful that our girls responded the way they did.

http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/softball/d1...ftball_rpi

I can't find published conference rankings as they may not have been released, but from a local RPI guru who does his own math, the SBC is ranked sixth, thanks to teams like Troy, USA (52), FIU (68) and WKU (69).

I'm liking how the SBC is looking this year.

Yes, we did. We hired him a tutor so he could graduate and we don't have to play him again. lol
