not going to happen; it'd take 30min or an hour away from their SEC programming...

RE: Sun Belt TV Deal Speculation.
What is CSS? The conference TV deal is horrible right now....Selling out to ESPN for a Tues night football game and Tues. night conf. basketball title game is a mistake imo....We should be above being a slave to ESPN now and finding a better contract that would make sense and allow fans to travel to a thurs-sat. conf. tournament instead of selling out to ESPN....and ditch the Tues. night game, no one can go to these games...Thursday is bad enough but I understand Thursdays, but Tuesdays are a joke for college football....And for WKU, our own students have a better deal for TV than the SUn Belt, we are used to be able to watch us play on TV, its a shame we cannot watch on TV our first round game in a conf. tournament....So when ESPN calls for it, we lose TV and have to watch on ESPN 3 and hope its not blacked out, what can of deal is this for WKU fans?..Pay WKU to show the quarters and semis on TV at least...

They have SWAC, SOCON, Big South, D-II, and NAIA programming. I think they can find a spot in their lineup for the Sun Belt.

ESPN brings viewers no other option can bring. No other network has the "default" viewers ESPN, none are in as many households, none has the full ecosystem of internet, apps, multiple programs pushing your highlights.

Sure CBS College can show WKU-Troy at 2:30 on Saturday while CBS is showing UK-Tenn. Good for gate receipts not so good for being seen by potential ticket buyers and recruits.

Sure Fox will do a regional deal but if UNT-WKU is on Fox Dallas and Fox South how does that help UNT recruit the kid outside of Houston getting a different game on Fox Houston? How does that help WKU recruit the kid in Tampa watching Sunshine or connect you with the alum in St. Louis watching Fox Midwest or in Cincinnati watching Fox Ohio?

We already know that CBSC wants weeknight games. Who can forget the infamous UAB weeknight game everyone posted attendance pics of? You are still playing weeknights but far fewer can see the game.

As to the tournament schedule. Again you can play Thur-Sun and finish the week before selection Sunday or play to selection Sunday but you are going to do it with fewer people watching the games because it won't be on ESPN. Will it help attendance? I hear that claim but either way people are missing at least two days of work, more likely three. We've never seen any mass following to the tournament site from any school.

The average Sun Belt basketball game drew 2,800 fans last year on campus, if the fans aren't willing to buy a ticket across town they aren't going to buy a ticket 500 miles away and set aside five days to the event. The failure to build home fan bases has far more to do with poor attendance than the schedule.

AT&T U-Verse doesn't have it either, at least not in Murfreesboro... I'd have liked to have been able to see some games on it this year but NO, it's not covered...

This season on selection Sunday, I believe ESPN only showed 1 championship game and that was the ACC. SEC was on CBS and A10 was on another network (ABC I think). I wonder why we can't play ours immediately following the ACC champ game? If they would show the semis on Monday it would be worth it, but if they're only showing the Champ game anyway, I say we move final to the final Sunday if it's an option. My biggest gripe is CSS. It's absolutely ridiculous. The channel can be viewed in a very limited number of homes since it's only available through a few regional cable companies. I really wish we could play our SBC network games on ESPNU, CBSS, NBCS, or FS. Any of those can be viewed on satellite & most cable co. across the nation. Also, the games on CSS are garbage. The picture quality is often worse than ESPN3 and the announcers are bush-league most of the time. Ok, I'll stop now.

RE: Sun Belt TV Deal Speculation.
Sooner or later, the Comcast-FCC litigation is going to come to a conclusion repealing the terrestrial exception. Once that happens CSS will be available to the satellite companies, Verizon and ATT. Rumor is that CST (which also carries the Sun Belt Network) is already negotiating with those parties about making the channel available.

We should work to get on FOX Sports South and Southwest. Add the San Marcus or San Antonio market and get coverage all over the Southwest and Southeast.
