"Unofficial" Spring Ball Thread
http://www.emueagles.com/news/2012/3/6/F...23937.aspx

If I read that correctly, the team probably had its first no-pads workout, Tuesday.

The release contains the two deeps, BUT the two deeps do not account for any newcomers who are not on campus and can contribute in spring ball. That, of course, would be mostly our h.s. recruits.

The local weather is beautiful.

Anyone going out to attend practice?

I plan on going to check things out if it's open to the public...
I hear whispers that the first practice with pads will be Saturday .
(Maybe I should read the release, LoL)

Did I miss it but I didn't see Brown (DT recruit) there in the listed incoming freshman.

(Update): I found Mike Brown on the list.. He was the 1st name listed.

Dear Friends,
Unless things have changed since the Hall of Fame Luncheon, Coach English said spring practices were open to the public, and all were invited. I plan to go take a look myself.

Weird. The depth chart had Jairockeis Jones as the back up "Z" receiver. I thought he was dismissed from the team last year?

I may check it out. Please note **Tyler Allen has a new #11 and is now listed as RB! Interesting. Does anyone know anything about this development, I know we are pretty deep at WR, but we are even deeper at RB! Steve, have you heard anything?

No Kashama in the 2-deeps either.

Edit: he is on the roster though.

I can reach out to others, and I agree, it doesn't make sense..
I am thinking this could be because we are losing a few RB's after this season right? English and staff must be in agreement with this move. He could be the backup to our main RB..

I am heard that he just wanted to move to the RB position..

Do we have anymore scholarship left?

He is fast and he was recruited as a RB out of high school, but I don't see any scenario where he sees the field this season at RB.

Bob's right. Unless we use those gimmicky jet sweep plays (which seem like they never gained yards when we did them), I cant see Allen getting any carries ahead of Sherrer, Greene, White, Brumfield, or even Lewis...unless someone gets hurt, of course (knock on wood).

Maybe Allen is planning for after this season when they are gone..

I gotta believe that's the plan or else he will be greatly disappointed. His main job this season will be returning kicks, I'm sure.

No way. I think he is a return specialist and a trick play guy this year.

If we can figure out (Allen purpose) and if this is the game plan then don't you think the other team we are playing against will also figure it out?

Of course, with advance scouting there are no secrets. But, in football there are so many variables and options, there's only so much a team can prepare for. Plus, the beauty of football: You may know what's coming from time to time (like EMU running the ball down your throat) but can you stop it?!
