This one almost happened once, and would have been a great conference, if we could have gotten everyone on board before Maryland joined the ACC...

That was Fred Schaus' dream, and it died a horrible death, just like JoePa's dream...

Yup an incredibly good conference. When ECU and Virginia Tech were ready decades later and no one wanted them yet we could have easily plugged them in.

UMass would have been slotted in UConn's spot, since the Huskies weren't on the radar either at that time...
