Yeah but unless he played defense too he wouldnt have meant a thing. We had well over 600 yards of total offense and did not punt for the entire game. If we had any semblance of a red zone offense that game and not kicked 6 field goals we would have scored 80 points.

He's just looking for an excuse because you blew out a FCS team that game them fits.

That backup QB was a quality FB player from Louisiana, and he gave stAte fits in the first half, since we hadn't seen that run oriented set of plays on film.
Bottom line is stAte stroked UCA and La Tech choked on UCA.

RE: Will La Tech join the Belt
Tech also had close to 600 yards of offense against UCA (542). The difference was that UCA had 372 yards passing against Tech [only Hawaii had more (410)... more than Houston (351)] and only 225 yards passing against stAte. Tech and stAte were able to shut down UCA's running game (73 and 97, respectively).
I think they had a better offense with Nathan Dick at QB. He was able to move the chains and keep Tech's offense off the field more than the backup was able to do against stAte. Tech only had the ball for 25 minutes to UCA's 35 minutes. Time of possession in the stAte game was even at 30 to 30.

Ain't this great ? Now a Techster is arguing about who did better vs an FCS team. Seperation is a ***** !

You guys brought it up. I think we played much better against Houston, Ole Miss, Nevada, Miss State, Southern Miss, Fresno St, and TCU than we played against UCA.

Punts: stAte 0, UCA 8 >>> La Tech 5, UCA 6
stAte blew 'em out and called off the dogs.
Tech was fortunate to come away with a win.

Didn't play the same team though. QB is a key position in that offense.

I'm sure that contributed to the fact that stAte didn't punt.

Do you guys remember when the only time Tech fans came to this board was to tell us how bad we are
Now they are border line demanding a spot if the alliance doesn't take them. It would just be my laugh of the year if the alliance takes San Jose State and Utah State to get to 18.

RE: Will La Tech join the Belt
I'd really prefer to get App State in the league over all other FCS programs. They would add a respected and exciting name to the roster that would garner national attention. I'd hate to miss an opportunity to get them and watch the Moutaineers go somewhere like the MAC.

I personally do not want 3 schools from 1 state in the same conference.

Amen to that . . they were bad conference members before and they will be bad conference members again, if the SBC Presidents are stupid enough to let them back into the conference.
Go stAte . . Go SBC !!
