Sadly, Syracuse has never considered Rutgers as a rival...in anything. They should play UConn twice instead of Syracuse.

Or Pitt-Cuse 2X, UConn-Rutgers 2X, Cincy-Louisville 2X... USF w/out a H&H...

Syracuse is not going to be all that good next year so playing a thin roster of Big East schools is actually in our favor in 2012.

That being said I do not think playing at Yankee Stadium would work at all. Rutgers will have to come to the Dome. We are already giving up a return game with USC next season at the Meadowlands. Cuse fans would be pissed if we gave up another. Why even bother playing a Carrier Dome schedule just cement the basketball court down and call it a day.

I grew up in a family with season seats in the Dome, Section 118, for SU football the tailgating out on Forestry Dr by the bank of the cemetery hill -- so I'm fairly familiar with its worth and its drastic decline!

Meh, it's not too bad. As long as the 2nd game is in Yankee stadium, it makes it kinda special.

Ditto. Although seeing the Yankees play football might be interesting. Seeing the Yankees play baseball in a football stadium could be fun too. Not one of those hybrids (ala J Robie) - a real football stadium.

Strange situation having to play Rutgers twice in one season. I guess the only precedent is the National Championship game between LSU and Alabama.
Rutgers is a bit down but they do have a great TV market (NJ) and good football recruiting.

The Yankees like crowds in the off-season -- they make a killing on concessions, ticket surcharge, parking LOL

Spin-the-bottle scheduling...it could work!
