How'd that work out for you hot shot?
Hey, no reason to rub it in. I wasn't talking smack. That was the closest game yall have had this season in conference play. We get a putback with under 10 seconds away and it's a tie game (still can't believe Tony missed that!). A tough game for both teams. Hopefully we get a chance for a rematch in Hot Springs.
Well done MTSU!
Please tell me Tony Mitchell missed another shot at the end of a game?!?!?!
Not the very, very end. He had a put back off of a missed shot with like 6 seconds that he missed.
Sweet. After he told our crowd to be quiet when UNT was losing, his true colors came out. Happy to hear he once again missed a shot to send the game to overtime.

Dude, let it go. How many players have shushed crowds before? I'd wager over 10,000. I think you were trying to find a reason to dislike the guy before you even saw him play. He's not the arrogant self centered player you think he is, and I don't think one game should make you think that way either.

He was far from the only guy that misses in the flurry there. I think Alzee Williams, Brandon Walton, and Niko also had chances for shots there.
Not to mention, MTSU still would have had a last shot to win. When we got the first rebound, instead of playing for the last shot we just started to panic (IMHO) and kinda just threw shots up, hoping to get one.

There is a photo of a WKU player shushing the crowd from about ten years ago....but it was as we beat #4 Kentucky on their home floor.. Very sweet moment and well earned by that player.

Your absolutely right, thousands of players have shushed crowds before...........BUT, I would guess 98% of them do it when winning, not losing by 8. The 2% that do it when losing are just players being a jacka$$. I don't mind a player doing it as much when winning because he's toying with the crowd. To do it when losing is completely different IMO. And if your gonna do it when while losing, you better come stronger than an airball with 6 seconds left to win the game.
As far as me trying to find a reason not to like him is untrue. I love watching basketball. I literally looked forward to that game for weeks just to see HIM play. And the 17 minutes he played against us was enough time to show me that he is a special player. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but that's what I took away from watching him that single game.

I was honestly looking to become a fan of his, to watch him in the future and root for him being he chose to go to a Sun Belt school. Maybe the joke is on me, I don't know. But to see his face after that airball was priceless, so maybe mission wasn't accomplished.

Things like that happen. It's part of playing basketball. No one hits 100% of their shots all the time. Even good NBA players shoot their average in pressure situations.
If he weren't good, you'd have nothing to hate about him. He'd just be another basketball player that missed a shot at the end of a game. But with the hype comes the hate.
I have confidence that when he's out of a North Texas uniform, you might feel differently about him.

I think Tony is easily a top 10 freshman in the country. He is immensely talented. He definitely needs to improve his body language though, because even if he isn't a bad kid, I think it gives off a bad impression some times.
My $.02.

I personally didn't watch the game @ the Cajuns, but Tony is a quiet guy. Not the showboat type by any means. He finally is in game shape and it's showing. I just read an article on cbssports that has him as the #7 freshman in the country, and #1 among mid majors.
I guess I just don't see him as a Lebron or D-Wade type player that's overly cocky, in fact I don't see that at all. Even in interviews he does not show an ounce of arrogance. I agree, shushing when you're losing is not a good look regardless of the margin, but it happens a lot more often than you said. And I think he did it when he brought us back to within 2 points after being down by ten or so the majority of the game. Hopefully he'll get a chance to show the country what he can do in the tourney.

How could we possible prove you wrong? We have one road win on the year. a 2 point survival at ULM.
I hate the fact we scheduled this trip in the middle of conference play. This is some road trip. Seattle, to Lafayette and then Mobile. I understand we have to do this each February because the Convo hosts a big event 2nd weekend of the month...but its still frustrating.

For the second year in a row, Bob Marlin and the UL Ragin Cajuns have climbed to the top of the SBC West standings. UL may not have the most talented team, but they are the best coached team in the SBC. God help you all if we get the talent.
