Who will be the first to $1 million
With coaches salaries starting to increase across the Belt. Who will be the first school to offer $1 million?

If Stock can turn it around survive that long, he'll be making that much in like three more seasons.

Never say never.
We were paying Freeze 200k....and turnaround and commit to this?

I honestly think the supporters of ASU took notice of this years bump in attendance and the major leap in excitement that Freeze brought to Jonesboro, and saw investment potential.

I can't wait to see our attendance next year!!!

I don't think it will be WKU. WKU is in a smaller town compared to the rest of the belt and takes us out of that running. I could see fiu or ul doing it first. FIU because of market size and UL because of football fan base. The only way WKU could first is if we have magic happen over the next year or two.

Very well could be ASU next season if Malzahn takes them to 11 wins or so. I haven't looked in to the contract, but I'm sure there's incentives. I thought it was cool having the second highest paid coach...then out of nowhere ASU bumps it up to 850K? 300K over Stockstill? Good lord this conference is improving substantially.

If Gus takes the Red Wolves to a 11-win season in 2012, then he will be on to bigger and better things in 2013.05-stirthepot

Arkansas law will only allow ASU to pay him 157k. That is his base. The rest comes from donors.
