This is a tricky question...our basketball fans have been on strike for a few years now which has killed our attendance numbers, and the football has been going through a fcs to fbs period which killed our attendance during the losing streak. But every time it comes down to traveling WKU fans come out in full force, we had 12-13k ( WKU side of stadium) on a thursday night 8pm out of town game this year and we always bring the most fans to the sunbelt bb tourney every year. I just dont see us being 6-7 down the list and history shows that, this year maybe but not year in and out. Our problem lately is we seem to have a split fan base that also follows UK and it seems that WKU and UK always play at the same time football and basketball and with the success UK has had lately we are going to lose that battle to them. The state of Kentucky does not have the population of the rest of the sunbelt schools states and this hurts WKU in the battle for butts in the seats. Hopefully with the football turning around we will see our attendance jump back up. I still say numbers traveling is a true gauge of a fan base.

I would've thought that we may have been #3. Agree with the first two. Maybe that we haven't played any of you guys in football yet hurts our image a little? I'll admit though, I don't know much about either NT or ASU's fan bases.

Just for the sake of argument.

From 1987-88 hoops season until Nutt got the last renewal, Arkansas State was consistently top third in the nation in attendance and finished 1 or 2 in conference attendance all but one year when we finished third. In that span split two league titles and one NCAA bid.

Finished in the middle of league in home football attendance last year working on second straight losing season

Anyone else care to rank them?

Personally, Z, I think you have Bawcomville Peewee rated too low. I agree that they are really close to West Monroe, but there is a lot of overlap in that fan base. I would have put them at 13, with West Monroe at 12. McNeese has lots of competition from Barbe and Sulfur, and should be at 14. Otherwise, you are spot on.
