Your campus is so close to N.O. and your home attendance was much more than 18,000 so it only makes sense to assume that more tickets would have been sold. That is called deductive reasoning through the use of logic. Well, apparently CajunT was not a fan of honesty or logic. He attacked him for stating it. Which is absurd. If you defend that type of reaction then you are truly irrational and are simply blindly defending one of your own regardless of the person.

I have a special place in my heart for "bashing" Western. Though to be honest, I'm not sure much of what I say about Western can really be considered "bashing".

Anyhow, anytime I've ever said anything about Middle moving on to another conference, I've always said if we could do it with any program in the conference it would be Western, so it's not like I truly hate you guys...

I agree with this comment, I've noticed that a lot of moderators here like to stir the pot. It is a conflict to then be able to moderate those who might disagree with you. And to say, "it takes all of us to do something" is disingenous as well. You all have influence amongst yourself that none of us have.

I don't know what the OP meant when he stated the 18000 number. However, T was not the only one who thought it was a backhanded compliment. Beed & I also read it that way. Home attendance and traveling on the road to go anywhere are two completely different animals. With that being said we will have more fans at a game 2 hours form our stadium than anyone except maybe stAte and MTU put in their stadium all year long. I completely agree that we have a great advantage with the location of the New Orleans bowl. Also, note that the terrace level is being opened for the first time in the Superdome. This was never done, even when Southern Miss was in the bowl, which is closer to NOLA than Lafayette. The sale of our ticket allotment will be in the top 10 of any FBS program this year.

Now, seeing that Ts first post may have been interpreted differently by you. I completely understand you wanting to defend the OP. However, you instantly inflamed the discussion with your dogshit references. So, you are not innocent, and don't pretend you are.

a mod may stir the pot, I'm not going to deny that. the difference is we follow the rules of the board, even when doing that. we're members here too and we like to mix it up with yall, but we don't cross the line we enforce. this isn't a job we get paid to do, we're here because we love this community and want to be a part of it and help make it friendly and fun for everyone. being a moderator is a thankless job and it takes a lot of restraint to be able to make an unbiased decision you know will make some angry, make that call, then sit back and get yelled at by folks on here. police officers do their job and often experience the same. both want to do the right thing and protect the community, and both regularly are demonized for making tough decisions.

getting in to discussions about the Belt, and breaking the rules of the board, are not one and the same. you can get lively and have fun here with a little smack and NOT break the rules. everyone on here knows what is and is not allowed, if you keep to the former then everything is fine. knowingly crossing the line is not. when someone does something we always contact them and inform them what they did wrong, we don't just go to defcon 1 and kick them out of here. usually they recognize they did wrong and everything is settled. it's those few who continue on knowing they are breaking rules who we have to escalate our attention toward. CajunT was one of these people. he has been at it for a long while, and at some point you MUST recognize that a person is not interested in doing right and it is time for them to leave. he had PLENTY of opportunities to change his ways and he just wouldn't do it. the guy isn't coming back, so continuing to stir up crap over this is pointless.

Paul of Troy has received the appropriate punishment for his part, so this wasn't an attack on one person. everyone involved was treated fairly.

FYI: our mod staff is considered one of the most leiniant and forgiving on the entire bbs site. if you disagree, you're free to post elsewhere and see how they do things. heck we don't actually have to discuss and defend our decisions to you guys, we do so because we respect yall and believe everyone here is a friend, we do it out of courtesy. it'd be nice to receive the same in return, rather than get attacked every time we have to make a difficult decision like we just did.
