DENTON, Texas - Following his record breaking performance against Middle Tennessee, running back Lance Dunbar has been named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week. In addition, Dunbar was also named the College Football Performance National Running Back of the Week.

Dunbar set a North Texas and Sun Belt Conference single-game record with 313 yards rushing and had four touchdowns in a 59-7 win over Middle Tennessee. With the performance, Dunbar became North Texas' all-time leading rusher with 4,224 yards.

The 313 rushing yards was the best performance by any player in college football this season. He averaged 7.8 yards on 40 carries in the game, scoring touchdowns on runs of 26, 14, 1 and 5 yards.

With the performance, Dunbar finished his career ranked third in career rushing yards in Sun Belt history and became the first North Texas back to have three 1,000-yard rushing seasons.

He is the only back in Sun Belt history to have over 300 yards rushing in a game. Dunbar also became just the sixth player in NCAA history to rush for over 4,000 yards in a career and have 1,000 yard receiving.
